This particular boat has nearly 10,000 nautical miles under her centerboard, with remarkably few issues along the way. DF28 BOAT LIFT INFORMATION

A few Dragonfly 28 owners have asked about lift options, so I wanted to share some measurements and construction details from a DF28 lift project we’ve helped with.

We have now successfully assisted with three DF28 lift projects—one in Florida and two in Maryland. Hopefully this information will be helpful to other owners considering a similar setup.

Main Hull / Baka Supports

Front Main Hull Supports

Outside edge to outside edge: 737 mm (29")
Width at top of humps: 635 mm (25")

Rear Main Hull Supports

Outside edge to outside edge: 851 mm (33.5")
Width at top of humps: 749 mm (29.5")

Main Hull Support Length: 3,658 mm (144")

Ama / Float Supports
Support width: 305 mm (12")
Support length: 3,048 mm (120")
Construction Notes

For the project shown in the photos, I made the ama supports as wide as the available lot and dock space would allow.

The main hull supports were custom fabricated to match the curvature of the DF28 hull. We first scribed the hull curvature onto a long piece of cardboard and used that as a template. It doesn't need to be absolutely perfect—the template was then transferred to the support material and the curve cut with a jigsaw or similar tool.

An additional board was added underneath the support to provide extra strength and rigidity.

Be sure to zoom in on the photos for a closer look at the construction and, particularly, how the hull curvature was transferred to the supports.

Hopefully this gives other DF28 owners a useful starting point if you're planning a lift of your own.

From the Adriatic to Denmark: A True Dragonfly Experience 🇮🇹🇸🇮🇩🇰
What better way to understand the Dragonfly experience than to actually sail one?
Recently, two of our customers embarked on an unforgettable Dragonfly adventure — beginning in the Trieste area of Italy with Peter Gattinger of Dragonfly Charters, where they spent several days learning to confidently skipper a Dragonfly 28.
Together, they sailed to Grado, Italy, and Piran, Slovenia, gaining invaluable hands-on experience with the unique handling and performance of a folding Dragonfly Trimaran.
The next trip, they traveled to Fredericia, Denmark, for the Dragonfly Tri-me experience and a tour of the factory. They sailed their DF28 throughout the beautiful islands and villages surrounding Fyn, experiencing everything from perfect sailing conditions to some seriously challenging winds! 🌬️⛵
As they put it:
“The strong winds were fantastic for sailing."
They also had the opportunity to tour a Dragonfly 40 at the dock and a Dragonfly 36 inside the factory, getting a firsthand look at the craftsmanship and construction that goes into these remarkable boats.
This is more than buying a boat. It's becoming part of the Dragonfly experience.

Another great day of demo sails aboard the Dragonfly 28 Touring here in Florida!
Luis and Veronica are weighing their options between the Dragonfly 28 and one of our larger models. After many years of sailing monohulls, they're ready to make the leap to a trimaran for more speed, better performance, and a whole new level of sailing enjoyment.

Congratulations to Dan on the purchase of his new Dragonfly 36 Performance!

Dan has spent a lifetime around boats, sailing, and the marine industry, owning a wide variety of vessels along the way. When he discovered the Dragonfly 36 Performance and experienced firsthand what makes it such an extraordinary design, he knew he had found something special.

Before setting off on his Atlantic crossing, Dan is currently undertaking an extensive shakedown cruise from Denmark to France with support from the Windcraft Multihulls team, including Dragonfly expert Carsten Steenberg. This multi-day passage will provide the perfect opportunity to familiarize himself with the boat and fine-tune systems before embarking on his next great adventure.

The DF25 Sport is a fantastic platform for day sailing, occasional weekend camping/coastal cruising, and regatta or club racing. Recently, a DF25 Sport participated in the Annual Pensacola Multihull Regatta hosted by Windcraft Multihulls, where it once again proved to be a fun, capable, and high-performance trimaran.

From a performance standpoint, we’ve found the highly buoyant floats allow for very aggressive sail handling while maintaining confidence and stability. When lowering the spinnaker, we recommend sailing deep downwind to reduce apparent wind, collecting the lazy clew, and pulling the foot of the sail toward the main hull on the leeward side. Then, release the tack line to keep the tack and foot from touching the water before dropping the halyard. The spinnaker will naturally fall onto the leeward net, which provides a large, stable platform for safely gathering and managing the sail.

The owner also keeps the boat stored on its trailer with the mast up for most of the year in the local yacht club yard. This setup makes excellent sense from both a cost and preventative maintenance standpoint, while also making it easier to get out on the water more often.

Dragonfly 36 delivery - Part 2 🌟

Avid sailors Doug and Zulmarie wasted no time to take their family sailing on their new Dragonfly 36 Performance on the Chesapeake Bay.

Owning a Dragonfly has been a long term dream for them and there were smiles all around. Their’s is hull #11, making it the third Dragonfly 36 in the USA with several more coming. 🤩
