Congratulations to Dan on the purchase of his new Dragonfly 36 Performance!

Dan has spent a lifetime around boats, sailing, and the marine industry, owning a wide variety of vessels along the way. When he discovered the Dragonfly 36 Performance and experienced firsthand what makes it such an extraordinary design, he knew he had found something special.

Before setting off on his Atlantic crossing, Dan is currently undertaking an extensive shakedown cruise from Denmark to France with support from the Windcraft Multihulls team, including Dragonfly expert Carsten Steenberg. This multi-day passage will provide the perfect opportunity to familiarize himself with the boat and fine-tune systems before embarking on his next great adventure.

Congratulations again, Dan! We are honored to be part of your Dragonfly journey and are excited to welcome you to the Dragonfly and Windcraft Multihulls family. Fair winds and following seas!

The DF25 Sport is a fantastic platform for day sailing, occasional weekend camping/coastal cruising, and regatta or club racing. Recently, a DF25 Sport participated in the Annual Pensacola Multihull Regatta hosted by Windcraft Multihulls, where it once again proved to be a fun, capable, and high-performance trimaran.

From a performance standpoint, we’ve found the highly buoyant floats allow for very aggressive sail handling while maintaining confidence and stability. When lowering the spinnaker, we recommend sailing deep downwind to reduce apparent wind, collecting the lazy clew, and pulling the foot of the sail toward the main hull on the leeward side. Then, release the tack line to keep the tack and foot from touching the water before dropping the halyard. The spinnaker will naturally fall onto the leeward net, which provides a large, stable platform for safely gathering and managing the sail.

The owner also keeps the boat stored on its trailer with the mast up for most of the year in the local yacht club yard. This setup makes excellent sense from both a cost and preventative maintenance standpoint, while also making it easier to get out on the water more often.

Dragonfly 36 delivery - Part 2 🌟

Avid sailors Doug and Zulmarie wasted no time to take their family sailing on their new Dragonfly 36 Performance on the Chesapeake Bay.

Owning a Dragonfly has been a long term dream for them and there were smiles all around. Their’s is hull #11, making it the third Dragonfly 36 in the USA with several more coming. 🤩

Families that sail together stay together! ⛵

Dragonfly 36 Delivery!

A brand new Dragonfly 36 has just reached our shores, making three so far in the USA. 🤩

Dragonfly 36 #11, a Performance model, arrived from the Dragonfly factory in Denmark in late March and was commissioned expertly in Annapolis MD by Carsten Steenberg of Dragonfly Trimarans Northeast. 🍾🥂

Its happy new owners Doug and Zulmarie have had two trimarans previously but have been dreaming of owning a Dragonfly for some time. They sail with their family almost every weekend in the sailing season. When the Dragonfly 36 was announced they wasted no time in ordering one. They will appreciate the extra room as they were outgrowing their smaller trimaran. ⛵

If you see a three hulled silver streak zipping across the Chesapeake Bay that will be them.

DRAGONFLY 32 Evolution delivery⛵

Two happy new Dragonfly owners took delivery of their 2021 Dragonfly 32 Evolution this week in Annapolis. 🤩

Carsten Steenberg of Dragonfly USA Northeast was on hand to introduce them to their new boat and provide orientation and training.

The new owners will be moving the boat to Lake Erie in the not too distant future.

Annapolis Sailboat Show 2025 ⛵

The 2025 Annapolis Sailboat Show began in perfect weather and ended in, well, less than perfect weather. But that did not deter the hundreds of sailors who came to see the Dragonfly Trimarans. Some from as far away as California and Canada. 🇺🇸🇨🇦

Windcraft Multihulls with the support of Quorning Boats displayed a Dragonfly 28 Touring, a Dragonfly 40 Ultimate and the new Dragonfly 36 Performance.

Demo sails on the 36 and 40 were carried out on the day after the show in damp and blustery conditions. Everyone was amazed at how fast and comfortable it was on either boat especially those experiencing a trimaran for the first time.

The following day Jens Quorning took the Sailing World and Cruising World Boat of the Year judges sailing on the new Dragonfly 36 and blew their minds. 🤩

Dragonfly 36 hull #1 left the Dragonfly factory in Denmark on Thursday, October 17th, on its way to US waters. 🇺🇸

New England Dragonfly rep. Carsten Steenberg was assisting the new owner on the first leg towards Kiel. 🌊
