We Brought a 1994 Dodge Viper Back From the Dead!

This 1994 Dodge Viper has been sitting, but it’s finally time to bring this old-school V10 monster back to life.

In this video, we dig into the Viper, figure out what it needs, and start getting it back into fighting shape. The big job includes pulling it apart for head gaskets, upgrading to MLS gaskets and ARP hardware, and tackling everything else we find along the way.

We’re also working on fitting Gen 3 Viper headers to the Gen 1, getting the car running right, and preparing it for the next stage.

There’s just something special about the early Vipers — raw V10 power, basically no driver aids, and one of the wildest American sports cars ever built.

Older Mercedes seat repair! 🔧

The power seat stopped working, and after digging into it we found the culprit — a broken plastic gear inside the seat mechanism.

Instead of replacing an expensive complete assembly, we were able to source the replacement gear online and repair what was actually broken. A simple fix that saved the customer some money and keeps another older Mercedes functioning the way it should.

Sometimes the best repair isn’t replacing everything — it’s finding the actual problem. 💪

E-Class in the shop for a Service B and some additional maintenance! 🔧

Not everything that comes through Modern Masters has to be an AMG. This Mercedes is getting caught up on its scheduled service, a thorough inspection, and a few other maintenance items to keep it running the way it should.

Performance cars are fun, but proper maintenance is what keeps any Mercedes on the road. 💪

This 2018 GLS 63 AMG is back for more! 🔥

We tuned the ECU on this beast all the way back in 2022, and now it’s time to get the transmission on the same level as the engine.

We’re dialing in the TCU with rev-matched downshifts, optimized torque limiters, improved clutch engagement, and quicker, more decisive shifts.

Making power is only half the equation—the transmission needs to know exactly what to do with it. This GLS 63 is about to shift as good as it makes power. 💪⚙️

With Matt behind the keyboard, we were able to get the AMG GT R dialed in with some fine-tuning while we were in Chicago. 💻🏁

We’ve been putting in a ton of work behind the scenes dialing in the different AMG platforms so we can offer the best tuning options for everything from basic bolt-ons to serious performance builds.

Matt and I got a lot accomplished this week—even while helping Alex from Legit Street Cars and getting Matt moved to DC Motorworks.

A busy week, but a productive one. More AMG tuning, testing, and development coming. 🔥

Made a visit to BNZHaus in Lincolnshire, Illinois — Mercedes-Benz specialists who know these cars inside and out, from maintenance and diagnostics to repairs and everything in between.

BNZHaus has been a great friend of Modern Masters, and they’re also good friends with Alex from LegitStreetCars, so it was awesome getting to stop by, check out the shop, talk Mercedes, and see what they’ve got going on.

Always good connecting with other shops that share the same passion for keeping these cars on the road and doing things the right way.

Sometimes the best builds aren’t planned — they just have a deadline. 😂

This 2006 Porsche Cayenne S had been sitting for YEARS in my buddy Matt’s garage. With Matt getting ready to move to Georgia, there was only one problem…

The Porsche had to GO.

So we gave ourselves one night to figure out why it had been sitting, get it back together, and get this thing RUNNING and out of the garage.

A few hours of diagnosing, wrenching, and refusing to call it a night later…

SHE LIVES! 🔥

After years of sitting, the Cayenne fired back up and drove out under its own power. Nothing like a little “I’m moving to another state” deadline to get a project finished. 😂
