From time to time I will have a discussion with my technicians as to who’s job is harder.
I tell them; “talking soooo much, being pleasant, always a smile on your face and being customer driven at times can be exhausting”.
On the other hand; “working independently, few phone interruptions, eating doughnuts from grateful customers, cookouts, afternoon snacks from more grateful customers, how hard can that really be”…..
As I walked by Eric this morning and glanced at him changing an engine for a customer, I was humbled by the wires, computers and everything else that goes into a job that large.
The skill that is needed for today’s technicians requires so much education, computer and software knowledge and a whole lot of patience.
Yeah, maybe “talking sooooo much” is not in the same league as this crew!
Eating some crow and humble pie today!
