Modern cars have a ton of technology that feels cutting-edge—like automatic headlights, auto-dimming high beams, automatic climate control, cruise control, and electronic anti-theft systems. But what if I told you that this 1975 Cadillac had it all back then, powered by vacuum systems and simple circuits?
This 1975 Fleetwood Talisman is a rare bird (1 of roughly 1,200 made), billed as ‘the biggest owner-driven Cadillac’ on the market at the time. We were challenged to restore all of that technology to full function in 2026. From rebuilding the six-way power seats to repairing the internal mirror adjusters and all of the aforementioned automatic features, there was a lot of ground to cover on this project. And while it wasn’t a walk in the park, this testament to Cadillac’s ingenuity can now be seen floating around the roads of Butler County once again. #1975
