🚗 TIP OF THE WEEK: Know Your Insurance Policy BEFORE You Need It!

Nobody plans on an accident, but a few minutes with your policy now can save you headaches (and money) later. Check these three things:

✅ Your coverage & deductible. Do you have collision and comprehensive? How much is your deductible on both collison and comp?

✅ Rental car coverage. Is it included? Many policies cap it at a daily dollar amount or a set number of days, so you want to know that before your car is in the shop. The cap for daily will determine what kind of vehicle you can get, while your vehicle is being repaired.

✅ Parts your insurer will pay for. Policies may allow OEM (original manufacturer), aftermarket, or recycled parts. Every policy is different based on year and miles on your car.

Tip of the week: 🚨 Know Your Rights 🚨

Sometimes an insurance company will use certain language to pushed customers toward a different shop, saying we're "out of network" or not a "preferred" shop. 🚗💥

Here's the truth: auto insurance doesn't work like health insurance. There's no "network" that limits where your claim can be repaired, and your insurer can't require you to use their "preferred" shop. In Kentucky, that decision belongs to you. We are not under contract with any insurance company so we can make sure your vehicle is fixed correctly. KY law KRS 304.12-275, plainly states the customer’s right to choose and no claim denial.

So when it's time for repairs, pick the shop you trust with your vehicle. We'd love for that to be us, but if it's not, that's okay. What matters is that it's YOUR call and not your insurance company's.

It's frustrating to see big insurers use "preferred shop" language that makes drivers feel like they have no other choice, especially when it can steer work away from local, family-run businesses like ours.

If you're ever in an accident, don't let anyone pressure you into a shop you don't know or trust. 🙅
