Teammate Ethan Taylor recently brought his beautiful e46 coupe down to the shop for a total revamp to get him back on track after a hiatus from a date with a wall. It was a pleasure to get this car back to driving again so we can turn some laps together. The motor had was leaking a fair amount of oil, the clutch was on its way out, and he snapped his motor mounts during the impact as well as bending some steering components in the process. We were able to get his motor torn down quickly, cleaned up all the gunk off the block and got to work. Huge shoutout to Monarch Manufacturing for allowing me to take the old headers along with some other aluminum accessory components in to put the aquaBlaster to work. Notice that beautiful finish on the headers that has now worked it’s way to a golden wheat color with some heat cycles. All gaskets but the head gasket were replaced. We installed a new clutch and pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bearing, and a new brass clutch pivot pin. Deleted the heater core system with a BimmerWorld heater core delete kit and installed a new coolant hard line. Refreshed the entire intake and ccv system as well as fresh vacuum lines. And lastly for the engine inspected the vanos system but it appeared that a previous owner had already addressed vanos. We then got to installing another beautiful SLR full ultra angle kit paired up with some PMB coilovers and a brand new Condor Speed Shop solid steering coupler to eliminate any steering slop that the old factory rubber ones tend to have. Lastly we were able to re weld on his rear blast pipes back on to the existing exhaust where it was previously cut along with fixing some of the holes in the exhaust from the builder of the original exhaust. Thank you for trusting us with your baby Ethan! Can’t wait to drive together after all this time on Saturday at the Drift Nirvana: Washington Circuit 2-Day Campout
