Going live 5th for the auction site today's a freshly serviced example of Ducati’s generation defining icon! This 916 is from '98 and it's available for bid now on iconicmotorbikeauctions.com

The 916 truly needs no introduction, but we’ll defer to VisorDown for our favorite summation:

“Every once in a while a true classic comes along: James Joyce’s Ulysses, The Beatles’ Revolver, Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs. Greats one-and-all, to be seen, owned or understood by the discerning and devoted. To the list of timeless classics, we can add Massimo Tamburini’s Ducati 916.”

“Never had a motorcycle provoked such feelings of pure lust or been so coveted. Here was s*x made metal, a Sophia Loren in cro-mo steel and alloy. Slim and curvy, the 916 took the breath away from any angle and redefined how a motorcycle could, and should, look.”

“And it wasn’t just skin deep. The four valves per cylinder desmodromic V-twin measured 916cc and produced 114 crankshaft horsepower, with torque from tickover.”

The seller acquired it from a private seller in Massachusetts.

During their ownership, the seller has covered 1,000 miles. The odometer shows 16,456 miles. In August 2025, Iconic performed maintenance work on the bike.

Modifications:
-SPS bodywork
-Braided brake lines
-Corbin seat
-Aftermarket gas cap
-Gauges

Currently located in Panorama City, CA, this Ducati is offered on a clean New York title.

Bennetts had this to say about Iconic's 4th auction going live today: “The BMW HP4 RACE is as suave as 007, as blinged up as Jay-Z, as dexterous as Fred Astaire, as predictable as 1+1 yet has plenty in reserve to scare if you get complacent..." This one is from '18 with just over 650 miles on the clock, and it's available for bid now on Iconicmotorbikeauctions.com

Given the sheer number of incredible machines one could buy right off of a dealer’s floor over these last few years, it is easy to believe that we will look back on this period of motorcycling and consider it a golden era. Like Ducati’s Desmosedici and Honda’s RC213V-S, the BMW HP4 Race was not built for homologation purposes (although it was rare and limited to just 750 examples) – it was produced to showcase the German manufacturer’s technical abilities and give the general public the opportunity to pilot something very special.

The BMW HP4 Race is not street legal and was never intended to be ridden anywhere other than your favorite circuit and as such it has no lights or reflectors, no bulky number plate holder or any extra street necessities to add weight or get in the way of its main objective: go fast. At just 377 pounds ready to ride it is very light – it saves nearly 100 pounds off a standard S1000RR. It’s svelte nature is due in large part to its full carbon fiber frame that scales in at under 18 lbs. The subframe was also fabricated out of composite material, and the bodywork and wheels are made of carbon fiber.

The seller acquired it from the original owner in 2022 through an Iconic Motorbikes auction. It is #293/750.

“This example is unusual from all other HP4 race offerings in that it comes with what I believe is essentially every factory accessory, support component, software package, and documentation item ever offered for the HP4 Race platform. Over the past 4+ years I have intentionally sourced and assembled all available OEM HP4 Race components and electronics that could still be located.

The HP4 Race has been maintained as a collector motorcycle that is exercised occasionally rather than stored indefinitely.”

For the seller's extensive modification and spec sheet, feel free to visit the listing on the auction site!

Currently located in Redmond, Oregon, this BMW is offered on a clean California title.

2nd going live for Iconic today: with its torquey 1,203cc V-twin, fuel in frame chassis, and unmistakably unconventional engineering, the Buell XB12R Firebolt delivered big American muscle wrapped in one of the most innovative sportbike packages of its era! This one's from '07 and it's available for bid now on Iconicmotorbikeauctions.com

Please Note: This bike is a part of the Northern California Superbike Collection. The anonymous owner is well-known and a long-term friend of both Iconic and Bike-urious. All proceeds will go towards a foundation he and his wife run to further research for sustainable agricultural and agroforestry systems worldwide.

Buell’s XB frame first arrived on the scene in 2002 with the launch of the Firebolt XB9R. The series introduced many of the brand’s innovative technologies, including an industry-first Zero Torsional Load (ZTL) perimeter floating front brake disc, a forged aluminum “fuel in frame” chassis, as well as a swingarm that doubled as an oil reservoir. In order to keep the bike’s mass even closer to the ground, Buell mounted the muffler beneath the engine.

Come 2003, Buell expanded the XB lineup via the Lightning XB12. In keeping with the series’ naming conventions, the model bumped the Harley V-twin’s displacement from 984cc up to 1,203cc. On the road, this meant that it made 103hp and and 84lb-ft of torque. Along with the naked streetfighter ‘S’ (Lightning), Buell also offered the bike in adventure ‘X’ spec (Ulysses) and faired sportbike ‘R’ (Firebolt) guise.

As part of their review, VisorDown said, “so what do all these changes add up to? Well, in my humble opinion these are the bikes that Buell should have launched first. The styling alterations are beside the point, it’s the changes to the motor that make the world of difference.”

Manufactured in April 2007, this example's odometer shows 5,836 miles.

Modifications:
-CRG levers
-Domino grips

Currently located in Panorama City, California, this Buell is offered on a clean California title.

Iconic's 3rd auction going live for our site today's a 2008 Benelli Tre-K 1130 Amazonas! It has a smooth engine with 112 Nm of torque, handles curves well, and has fantastic dual-purpose tires! This one's from '08 with just under 300 miles on the clock, and it's available for bid now on Iconicmotorbikeauctions.com

Sharing several parallels with the Ducati Multistrada, the Benelli Tre-K was a street-oriented touring bike that as long as you don’t mind having almost non-existent dealer support, a modern Benelli offers an incredible riding experience in a package that makes Ducatis seem run of the mill. While most people think of sport bikes or naked superbikes like the Tornado or TnT, some journalists (like Michael Neeves with MCN) thought the Tre-K, a street-oriented tourer that’s similar to a Multistrada – to be the best new Benelli yet.

Like the Multi, the TRE K is a street-oriented adventure bike, though this is one of the “Amazonas” variants that adds spoked-wheels (with a larger 19″ wheel up front) and wave brake rotors for a slightly more off-road friendly version. It’s one of the more attractive dual-sport packages from the time, and it’ll stand out at a bike night!

The engine produces 123 horsepower and 85 pound feet of torque, and Neeves said it was “10 times more exciting” than the powerplant in the 1100 Multistrada. In addition to the exclusivity factor, this bike was supposedly a “practical, user friendly motorcycle brought to life by a huge injection of Italian charm, speed, and handling.” Quite a lot of praise then.

The seller acquired it eight months ago from a dealership in Arizona through a Bring a Trailer auction. There is also a previous auction of the bike available here when it was sold with 16 miles. During his ownership, the seller covered roughly 160 miles. The odometer shows 289 miles. It is US and California emissions compliant.

Seller states: “This is 1 of 5 Benelli Tre-k 1130’s imported into the US. In my opinion its the Bimota of Adventure bikes. Its raw and noisy, but the 3 cylinder motor sounds like a F1 motor and the gearbox is slick as can be. It looks like nothing else out there. I sold my 2025 Multistrada V4 and decided I would ride this. The long travel suspension I figured would be good for high speed off road driving. Service parts are readily available in the US and everything else you can get from Manic Motors in Germany, as well as performance parts. They have a lowering kit as well.”

Modifications:
-Lithium battery
-Touring kit
-Benelli mirrors
-The sale includes 3 ignition keys, owners manual, side cases and service invoices plus other documents

Currently located in Los Angeles, California, this Benelli is offered on a clean Montana title.

First hitting our auction site today's a 1983 GPz550; the bike that launched the middleweight revolution, bringing racebike power, handling, and tunability to the street! This Kawasaki's available for bid now on Iconicmotorbikeauctions.com

The Kawasaki GPz550 really set the middleweight class alight when it came out in 1982. It was the result of steady development that produced a mid-weight that could give the big boys a good run for their money. They had it pretty much their own way since Honda’s CBX550 wasn’t out and Suzuki admirable 550 wasn’t out and Suzuki’s admirable 550 was not aimed at such a sports market. Obviously the GPz600R has largely replaced it, but the 550 still has plenty of fans who prefer its handling, lines and air-cooled integrity.

Power went up from 54 to a claimed 65bhp, so the move to monoshock was a sensible and successful one. A steady stream of improvements in every department shows what can be done when the manufacturer sticks with one design and refines it rather than chucking it all away and starting with a new configuration. Like a lot of the classics here, it is a blend of many attributes that makes it so good just as much as outright performance.

The odometer shows 5,833 miles and the current owner has put 200 miles on this example. It is US and California emissions compliant.

Seller states: “Carbs were cleaned, kitted, rebuilt and synchronized. Needles shimmed to address EPA mandated lean condition. Left switch pod replaced to fix broken clutch safety interlock switch connection. Oil changed. Dent in tank was removed.”

“Factory fixed needle jets shimmed to address lean condition.” The sale includes 2 ignition keys, the owner’s manual, and service manuals.

Currently located in Seattle, Washington, this Kawasaki is offered on a clean Washington title.

Another great example of a classic Ducati just showed up for our auction site and the guys just took 2 of our sprinter vans to Orange County to bring back 5 more.

Can’t wait to show you what’s coming. There are two examples of a certain Ducati model that I’m especially excited about as it’s one of my personal favorites. I’d LOVE one for my personal collection so we will see!

Speaking of Ducatis…. We’re still looking for another Ducati / Aprilia technician and potentially another service writer. Applications must be sent to [email protected].

Saturday's 5th auction wrapping on our site: replacing the truly Iconic 916, the 996 was the Tamburini designed flagship superbike from 1999-2002! This one's from '99 and it's available for bid until 2PM PT on Iconicmotorbikeauctions.com

The 1999 Ducati 996 (Biposto) is a legendary sportbike featuring a 996cc liquid-cooled 90° V-twin Desmoquattro engine, producing 112 hp at 8,500 rpm and 93 Nm (68.6 lb-ft) of torque at 8,000 rpm. It utilized a steel trellis frame, Brembo brakes, and featured iconic, refined 916-style styling with improved, larger airboxes.

Replacing the legendary 916, the 996 was Ducati’s flagship superbike from 1999-2002. The gorgeous Tamburini-designed aesthetics remained, but upgrades like larger pistons and valves, a stronger crankshaft, lighter wheels, and better brakes all combined for an improved riding experience.

The 1999 model was praised for its superior handling and engine performance compared to its 916 predecessor, utilizing twin fuel injectors and a revised airbox for improved power delivery.

This example's odometer shows 17,407 miles.

Modifications:
-Marchesini forged wheels
-Floating Brake Tech front rotors
-Termignoni exhaust
-CRG Levers, Rizoma bar ends, carbon fiber air intakes
-Carbon fiber fender, rear hugger, chain guard and heel guards
-Zero Gravity windshield with aftermarket bolts
-Quick connect battery lead
