We have a favor to ask? Despite the fact that we are very different in our approaches to our work, Wyatt Armstrong has been working and sometimes hanging with me since he was 16. he is now 20. We celebrate and laugh at our differences. He and a group of his friends have started a you tube channel that cariies them through some adventures and one of those adventures they captured on video is a Rambler Body Swap. Wyatt decided to undertakethe swap in order to honor his father's "no more cars" edict ( I think Wyatt is now at five). So, if you follow this link you will witness an entirely different style of work where he begins the years long process of taking two cars and making them into one.. But more importantly, you will see that a myth popular in the US now, that young folks are not very hands on, is indeed that, a myth. While the project and the approach are not this old fart's cup of tea, I am pleased by the thought that a couple dozen young guys near the age of 20 regularly get together and do the kinds of things you will see at their channel so I ask you to support them. A couple of their videos have really taken off and so they have plenty of watch hours and what they need now is more subscribers so they can monetize their channel and continue their work... So take a look at the 2026 SCRambler.......

We are working hard to edit footage of our Nevada trip to share with you. We were so intent on clutch and transmission issues at the beginning of our work that we completely missed this sitting in a box in the back seat of the car until Day 3!

After 8 days of wrenching, two stints in the ER, and helping Paul to get back to family, Wyatt and I finally got underway on Sunday and made the 6 hour trip from Fallon to Vegas in 9 hours... The car handles "quirky" and will need something better than a hillbilly alignment when we get home.... for now, solving a little overheating adventure and some decided tuning problems await us this morning.... along with some cleaning Today's goal... 600 miles to ABQ

We began our trip Sunday the 19th with high hopes of posting our adventures Daily but then illness struck. By the time we arrived to Fallon Nevada, on Friday the 24th, Paul Erb of our crew (pic) was very ill. Saturday we brought him to Banner Churchill hospital where he was treated for Pneumonia as Wyatt and I worked on the car and filmed,. Paul was released late on Monday the 27th. Unfortunately, we had to take him back in to the hospital today. Filming of our progress on the car continues and we hope to leave Fallon NV at 2PM Thursday for a meetup with SOCAL rambler club members in Las Vegas on Friday, May 1. In Vegas, we will deliver an engine to a SOCAL member and will pick up a 1967 Marlin we will tow to Alvin Isom in OK. When we arrive in Vegas it is likely we will hole up somewhere nearby for a day to perform further work on the car. Challenges have included a decimated front end, an early trans with a late engine without the needed crank adapter, a bad clutch plate, a rats nest of miswired circuits, mice, a broken fuel filler neck,, dried gaskets, bad fuel pump. bad distributor, and a host of niggling little problems. Tomorrow we hope to finish the front end and tune the car. Thurs day we will begin posting a few shorts here. Until we post again, please send some magic, Paul;s way. Thanks!

Uggh! It took an hour of tests and fiddling with gain to get the Road noise down to a minimum on videos. This test did not go so well. The brand new set of US General Altimax tires sure is loud!

After months of preparation, Sunday April 19 was Day 1 of our Road Trip. We stopped to visit Dr. Mark Zeno to Pick up a 250 V8 rebuilt by Kevin Nichols. The 250 will stay with us through to Las vegas nevada when we will transfer it to Ane Uno who is bringing us a 67 Marlin from Stan Kelly bound for Alvin Isom in Arkansas. Driving in this video is Wyatt Armstrong, owner of a 70 AMX and a 65 440H. We apologize in advance for the sound... we are working on sound levels as we drive
