Timberline Sports We started with the goal of bringing exceptional service to the Upper Peninsula. It’s now our mission is to get you on the trail as soon as possible.

Timberline Sports is a family-owned business founded on a love of exploring the outdoors and powersports. We got our start as a Ski-Doo dealer and have been growing ever since. Now we’ve got the hook up in everything from snowmobiles to ATVs -- and we have rentals, too. That way locals and visitors can enjoy all the fun and adventure the Lake Gogebic and Bergland area offers. Our skilled team can even repair your ride and have you back on the trail quick. New to Michigan this winter?! To you, this annual snowfall map might have you scratching your head, but to the rest of us, this is completely normal. This is how much snow Michigan receives annually each winter! Yes... it looks weird because of a little thing called lake effect snow.

In no way is this a forecast, but it does give a good understanding of just how much each region receives in a typical winter. Even during a potentially warmer and drier winter, not much will slow down our lake effect snow belts from meeting their quota.

Last winter, the interior of the Keweenaw Peninsula measured over 325" of snow. We shall see if we can beat that again anytime soon, as last year was an impressive showing across much of the state.
