Look what we found shelling 👀

Despite the name, horseshoe crabs aren’t actually crabs at all — they’re more closely related to spiders and scorpions!

They’ve also been around for hundreds of millions of years, earning them the nickname “living fossils.” 🦀✨

Just another reminder that there’s so much more to discover around Marco Island and the Ten Thousand Islands.

This horseshoe crab was found already deceased while shelling along the beach — no horseshoe crabs were harmed in the making of these photos. 🤍

Our dock supervisor takes his job very seriously. 🤭⚓️

Great Egrets are one of the many locals you’ll spot. These beautiful birds are right at home along Marco Island’s waterways, where they patiently hunt for fish and other small aquatic life. 🐟🌴

Dolphins may get most of the attention around here, but they’re definitely not the only wildlife worth watching. 🐬🌊
