With the next Gridlife event less than two weeks away, we’re making some final adjustments to the RS!

After battling some suspension issues at the last Gridlife event, we’re excited to get our new Fortune Auto suspension installed and see the difference it makes on track.

We’ve been sharing a lot from the track this season, but we wanted to give you a look at what life in the shop has been like too.

Between race weekends, we’re right back to working on customer cars—whether that’s routine maintenance, diagnosing issues, performance upgrades, or full engine builds. It’s a busy season, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Racing is a huge part of who we are, but making sure your car is ready for the road (or the next track day) is what we’re here for every day.

Thanks for following along this season and for trusting us with your builds. We appreciate every one of you. 🙏

Pt.1 NY Gridlife Prep

Tony breaks down how he plans on rebuilding the front splitter on the RS.

When we went off track at Gingerman, due to a brake failure, the splitter got bent, cracked, and needs replacing.

Perfect time to rebuild it back better and before our next big event in New York🏁

After everything it took just to get this car to Gridlife, I definitely wasn’t expecting our first practice session to end like this.

I hit the brakes going into Turn 11… and the pedal went straight to the floor.

Thankfully, we were able to keep it out of the wall, figure out what failed, and get it fixed. Huge shoutout to everyone who jumped in to help—we wouldn’t have been back on track without you.

Definitely not the easiest way to start the weekend, but that’s part of racing. You adapt, fix what’s broken, and keep pushing.

A few days before Gridlife, we lost the engine… and honestly, we weren’t sure if we’d make the event.

We tore it apart, overnighted parts, threw in a new crank, rods, bearings, and spent a couple late nights in the shop just trying to get everything back together. It was a ton of work, but the whole team stepped up.

We got it done and made it to Gridlife.

This is what race week really looks like. 🏁

PSA!

If you do not have the proper tooling or knowledge please stop doing machine work to these Subaru engines! This is why you bring your car to a proper mechanic shop.

These FA20 heads clearly had been worked on at the time of tear down (for an engine failure). They replaced the exhaust guides but not the intake ones... The problem is they did not grind the valves and seats and slapped it back together....

Intake ones sealed good! Exhaust ones did not.... When the seats got ground they were not even close to contacting all the way around.... among other issues but that being the biggest. We see stuff like this all the time.

This week Mitch has been working on doing a 6 speed STI transmission swap in this 2013 WRX. Back in 2018 we did a JMA Stage 3 engine build on this car making around 450hp and it’s still running strong 💪
