COMX Rule Clarification & Sportsmanship Update
After receiving feedback regarding class eligibility, we are making some changes to ensure fair competition for all riders.
Beginning immediately:
• Riders are expected to compete in the class that matches their AMA classification, skill level, age, and machine.
• The 50cc Beginner class will be limited to shaft-drive and four-stroke motorcycles only. Two-stroke race bikes will no longer be eligible.
• Riders who have established themselves in a higher-level class are expected to remain in the appropriate class moving forward.
• Parents are expected to register riders honestly and in the proper class.
This applies across the board, from our youngest 50cc riders all the way to our 450 Open classes. We have Beginner, C, B, and A classes for a reason. Every rider has a place to compete and develop their skills. Know your class and race your class.
There is no pride in dominating competition that is below your skill level. True champions earn their results by racing against riders of equal ability and working their way to the top.
We cannot know every rider, every bike, or every rider’s complete history at registration. We rely on our racing families to help us maintain a fair and honest environment.
If a parent, rider, or family member believes a rider is competing in the wrong class, a formal complaint must be made directly to COMX. We will investigate the matter before any action is taken.
If a rider is found to be competing in an ineligible class, COMX reserves the right to:
• Remove points earned for that event.
• Reassign the rider to the proper class.
• Issue a one-round suspension for repeated or intentional violations.
• Issue additional penalties, including season suspension, for continued violations.
The goal is not to punish riders. The goal is to protect fair competition, provide true beginners a place to learn and grow, and ensure every rider has an equal opportunity to succeed.
Let’s continue building a series based on sportsmanship, integrity, and respect for our fellow competitors.
