Notice of Road Viewing Highland Township

The Jewell County Board of Commissioners will hold a special meeting on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. The special meeting is for the purpose of viewing the condition of roads in Highland Township in Jewell County. The meeting will begin at the Jewell County Commissioner meeting room. At 12:30 p.m. the Commissioners, the County Clerk, and any public that wants to attend will drive to view the conditions of the roads in Highland Township. The Commissioners will make the first stop in North Branch at the corner of Cedar Rd. and 78 Rd. if the public would like to attend and are unable to come to the Courthouse first.

Construction on the new Courthouse front steps has started. You can still enter the courthouse thru the Sheriff's Office or the back door.

2nd Half TAXES are DUE MAY 12, 2025.

You can use our drop box behind the courthouse or Mail them in if you don't want to brave the construction.

Courthouse hours:
Mon thru Thurs 8:15 to 12:30 and 1:00 to 4:30
Friday 8:30 to 12:30

Jewell county Treasurer's Office will NOT open at it's usual time due to weather and poor road conditions.

I will update when conditions allow for employees to safely travel to work.
