Forgot to post this the other week. Buddies 6.0 Yukon in for a new cat-back. Added a set of Flowmaster converters immediately after the existing Magnaflow units to help clean it up more for the sniffer, 409ss tubing, Flowmaster 70 series main muffler plus an additional Flowmaster resonator in the tailpipe. Truck has a cam upgrade and has long tubes and is set up for towing so volume control is of top priority. Came out very well. All you hear is the fan while driving.

2018 M240i in to make this Valvetronic axle back fit. Unfortunately due to poor tolerance control...it required significant work to make it fit ok. I built hanger mounts that lower the muffler enough so the tips would come out level. Then while the left side was pretty centered...the right side was an inch inward because the inlet pipe would hit the chassis if I went the other way, so I had to extend the right side an inch to center the tip. Then the inlet pipe required tweaks to correct the angle. Then modify the aftermarket midpipe to connect the dots and added a hanger in the middle for extra control.

!!! Be careful who you choose to install suspension components, especially aftermarket units where some stuff is not directly compatible with other parts. Some 'normal' shop installed these coilovers incorrectly causing a bunch of metal on metal contact vs being on the bearing of the strut mount. Plus they rounded out the inner hex on the strut shaft resulting in having to do more work to get it apart.

I always take my time to evaluate and make sure parts go together cohesively before sending something out the door. It takes more time, but then things are correct and SAFE.

project is done. Over the last several months I have done quite a lot. The car had sat since our favorite time in history and needed alot of TLC plus upgrades. A MS3 ecu install, wiring harness from scratch, gauges and panels, battery relocation, air intake, brake fluid flush, several bespoke little brackets and block off panels, distributor delete, had the injectors cleaned, etc etc. Just ALOT of little details went into this car that would take 50 pictures to fully show. Just polishing some tuning details and its back to its home. I think next round of work will be addressing the cooling package and revising it, but now it just needs to see some track time!

I figure I should give a little shop update. I have been chipping away at this project during the last few weeks. Wiring a racecar from scratch is a much longer, and tedious process then most people think, including me. Place is a bit messy, but I call it "controlled chaos". I have several projects in the queue and enough current work scheduled to go into August. I am hoping to test fire this VR6 today for the first time, but there is still a million things to finish and sort out after that on the car before it can finally be done.

Roberts MercedesBenz S320 in for a custom cat-back. 409ss, with a small oval muffler/resonator and a Helmholtz chamber tuned to 95hz to remove a moderate drone. Sounds really sharp!
