I was convinced we needed another entry-level technician. After taking a hard look at where the shop is and where it’s headed, I realized that’s not what we need.

We’re looking for an experienced automotive technician.

Someone who’s comfortable with brakes, suspension, steering, cooling systems, alignments, maintenance, and general repair. Someone who takes pride in doing things right the first time.

Here’s what you’re walking into:

✅ Climate-controlled shop (because working smarter beats sweating all summer.)

✅ Monday through Friday. Your weekends stay yours.

✅ Modern equipment and diagnostics.

✅ A shop that’s busy, organized, and still growing.

I’m not looking to hire a body. I’m looking to hire the right person.

Leave the ego at the door. Bring a good attitude, attention to detail, and pride in your work. The rest tends to take care of itself.

It’s been one of those weeks.

A 2020 Ram came in for a drivability diagnosis, axles, brake fluid exchange, and a handful of other concerns.

A C4 Corvette stopped by for a thorough inspection and diagnostic checkover.

An Elantra had us chasing down an intermittent loss of power steering and ABS faults.

An Expedition needed a blower motor and wiring pigtail.

An Escalade rolled in for worn ball joints.

A Journey received a long list of repairs, including the infamous oil cooler that’s all too common on those.

And another vehicle came in leaking transmission fluid… after another shop had already rebuilt the transmission.

That’s just a snapshot of what has rolled through the doors recently.

Some jobs are quick. Some turn into detective work. Some require fixing what someone else couldn’t. Every single one gets the same attention to detail because that’s what we’d want if it were our own vehicle.

To everyone who’s trusted Gearhead Autoworks with your car, truck, or SUV—thank you. The schedule has been packed, the lifts have stayed full, and none of that happens without your support.

Just a few short months ago, this new shop was empty. Four walls, bare floors, and a whole lot of hope.

Today, it’s a different story. Every bay is full, the lifts stay busy, and the floors are permanently “tattooed” with the marks of honest work. Every stain tells a story of a vehicle repaired, a family helped, and another customer who trusted us with something important.

I truly can’t thank you all enough. Gearhead Autoworks exists because of this community. Your support, your referrals, your reviews, and your trust have turned an empty building into a thriving shop.

A quarter of a pound doesn’t sound like much… until it’s 95° outside. 🥵

This vehicle’s A/C was working. It was blowing cool air. There were no leaks found, and the system had been serviced recently.

But it still wasn’t cold.

We recovered the refrigerant, verified the system was about 0.25 lb under the factory-specified charge, and recharged it to the exact specification.

The result? Ice cold A/C. 🧊

Modern A/C systems can be surprisingly sensitive to refrigerant charge. Being a little low doesn’t always mean the system won’t work at all—it may just mean it can’t perform the way it should, especially when the Kansas heat really starts working it.

Cool is good. Cold is better. 😎
