2 weeks before I retire from my life of retail auto repairs. After that, will be hanging with my dog, doing a bunch of yard work, and playing with hot rods. Plan on working closer with Nick Carson of Apex Custom Fab and Restorations. For now, digging I to a 1969 Roadrunner, powered with a 5.7 hemi, factory 4 speed and Dana upgrade, owned by Paul Slota. Power steering, at best, was trash. We decided to go with manual steering and install a high ratio gear set from Firm Feel Steering. Got the 50 year old box cleaned and scrubbed. A little brillo pad and hot water brought it back to life. Now to build the steering gear.

So now Stellantis is ending any chrome trim and accents on its vehicles, with the intention of convincing the buying public that people don't want chrome anymore. Yeah, that will go over big. That's like telling people they don't want hemi engines anymore. Maybe people don't want Stellantis anymore...

While the efi guys beat their chests on how great their 1980's technology is, the carb guys are constantly finding ways to improve. Enter the new BLP accelerator pump squirter. Compare the old school Holley cast non pullover squirter, which work very well, to the 4 hole BLP machined pieces. The 4 hole creates more atomization at the booster for better throttle response. Also notice the new hollow screws to reduce restriction of fuel when you need it most. For more information, contact BLP Racing Products or Dominic Thumper. Dominic is the best carb builder in the business hands down, and is testing these components on his own personal vehicle.

Rest in peace, Paula Murphy.
Paula was a fellow racer. She set a land speed record of 161 mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats in 1963. She was the first licensed female funny car driver, known as Miss STP. She has also driven dragsters and super speedway cars. Paula was inducted into the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame in 1992 and the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America in 2017.
Paula passed away on Thursday, at the age of 95. What a life!
God speed, Paula.

Adding a,QA1 front suspension. Didn't care for the supplied spacers for the tubular upper control arms. They stretched the arm to the point of bind for the heim joints, and in my opinion, the narrow tubular spacers would eventually cut into the slots that are the caster/ camber adjustment. So, I decided to machine my own offset length spacers with a wide base to sit flat on the upper mounting tabs. I had them coated by Universal Black Oxide for rust protection. Works perfect.
