Foreign Car Specialists, on Madison's west side, has a full-time position open for an automotive technician / mechanic.
We are a small, independent repair shop that specializes in European vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, & repairs. We take pride in our great reputation and referral customers. We are looking for a C or B level technician, fit to perform inspections, fluid changes/general maintenances, brake jobs, suspension/chassis repairs on BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, VW, Jaguar, Land Rover, and some Asian models. Depending on experience, also make repairs such as replacing timing chains, cylinder head gaskets, transmissions/clutches, etc.

Ideal candidate:
--Has technical degree &/or ASE certifications
--Has experience in the automotive field
--Has a great mechanical aptitude
--Is passionate about his/her work
--Attention/detail oriented (We strive to have the BEST repair made, NOT the fastest)
--Reliable and punctual
--Passionate about learning and growing as a mechanic/technician
--Most importantly, has a POSITIVE attitude!

We offer hourly pay based on experience, paid vacation/sick time, major discount on parts, and GHC health insurance option.

If you are running a turbocharged, direct-injection engine (BMW n54, MINI n12,14,16,18 or VW/Audi 2.0T) regular valve cleaning via walnutshell blasting might be something you would like to consider. Since these engines inject fuel directly into the combustion chamber, fuel isn't cleaning the intake valves (like a common port-injection engine does). Modern variable valve timing will overlap intake and exhaust stokes to help cool the combustion chamber by exhaust gas recirculation. An unfortunate side effect is sludge clinging to the intake valves. Symptoms begin with a rough idle.

Aaron welcomed his second child on Saturday, February 13th at 7:41pm weighing a hefty 8lbs 8oz and 20 inches long. Here is Eloise Marion with big brother Theodore! Aaron took the week off to settle in with his family, but should be back starting next week. If he looks a little bleary eyed when you see him, now you'll know why :)
