Dear Students, Families, and Friends,
We want to sincerely thank everyone who has stood by us during this difficult time. New students continue to join us, while our seasoned students are finishing with flying colors.
We are so proud of our shoreline community: Madison, Clinton, Guilford, Westbrook, Old Saybrook, Killingworth, Haddam, Essex, and Chester. It is an honor to serve you, and we hope to continue doing so for the next 40 years. My father would have been so proud to see the outpouring of support.
For the month of October, our operations will be slightly reduced as we say goodbye to "Miss Rachael" , who graciously came out of "retirement" to help us these past six months. Because of this transition, we must limit classroom sessions to two days a week: Tuesdays and Thursdays only. (Road lessons remain unaffected). Before making this decision, I spoke with students and several parents, all of whom have been supportive and understanding.
I cannot put into words how deeply grateful I am that the community my father poured his life into and gave so much to is now pouring back into us. Between Rae’s, my career at Medtronic, and the joyful weight of caring for my baby daughter, I’ve had little space to grieve. In a way, this message has become its own kind of grace, cathartic, yes, but also a reminder that love, once given, is never truly lost. As I sit in his office, working on the October calendar, I feel the calming quiet of a place once so alive with his presence.
We look forward to an exciting fall as we take the next step in opening a new chapter of Rae’s Driving School.
With gratitude,
"Mark Jr."
