Here's a special one. The first Standard Byke Co. fixed gear frame. Standard made this for me in 2011, and after a few RAGBRAI weeks, two hard years in Cleveland, a few wild years in the Quad Cities, and multiple years in Madison, I decided to send it back down for a fresh matte black paint job and a rebuild with, "Origin", as the main focus. I've had the White Industries cranks since 2014, and the headset since 2015. I think the Surly cog is real old but I can't remember that far back no more. I went with 🄿🄰🅄🄻 ᴄᴏᴍᴘᴏɴᴇɴᴛ ᴇɴɢɪɴᴇᴇʀɪɴɢ hubs and Velocity USA rims because that's how it was originally built. Same with the hockey tape grip. This bike is special, it's the first of few, and has lots and lots of memories built into it. Enjoy.

Check this out! We sent this surly Bridge Club down to our friends Standard Byke Co. and they painted it a wild green/blue/sparkle, with a nice clear coat over the entire frame. Truly making this build a project. The components on this bike are really something too. We build these wheels using Velocity USA rims, a Velo Orange rear hub, and a Son dynamo front hub. We attached a Busch and Muller light to the Surly 24 Pack rack, and that's all she wrote. But wait, there's more. Don't look past the polished 🄿🄰🅄🄻 ᴄᴏᴍᴘᴏɴᴇɴᴛ ᴇɴɢɪɴᴇᴇʀɪɴɢ cranks and Wolf Tooth Components chainring, or the Rivendell shifter and Velo Orange fenders. But those grips, those grips really tie the room together. Holy smokes!

In just over a week's time we'll be cooking, laughing, and camping at New Glarus Woods. It's free for you to join. Can't ride out? Drive. Bring the kitchen sink too.
Oct 3rd, leave Black Saddle at 10am.
No drop ride. If someone gets a flat, we stop.
We'll stop at the cafe in Belleville. There's also a bar just down the street.
Everyone is welcome. New to bike camping and have questions? Need gear? Reach out.

We're very excited to announce the arrival of the botched.bikes Dragonfly dual bottle cage holder. As Jamie mentions, the Dragonfly allows you to run a full frame bag - like the as shown Oveja Negra Bodega -  and two water bottles without giving up precious real estate on your handlebar. Hooray! And no knee knocking. RADICAL! The Dragonfly will pair nicely with our upcoming (Oct 3rd) FREE campout to New Glarus. Logistical details forthcoming. It's going to be so much fun. Maybe we'll offer a prize to the person who shows up with the most stuff on their bike. ANYWAY, you can find the Dragaonfly ONLY in the Cutesy Corner at Black Saddle Bike Shop. And please grab one of our new water bottles, they're pretty sweet.
