Have been wanting to show the difference our old scanner to our new scanner. This is a scan for a customer today of the old scan vs the new one. Think of our old scanner as an overhead projector. It simply bounced the image of the microfilm off a mirror to a screen with light behind it. If the image was not perfect it was very hard to get a nice scan.

The new scanner uses a camera to look at the film. For the most part the camera fixes a lot of the imperfections on the film. Not always, but most of the time from what we have seen so far.

We always try to get the best image possible to customers. If the scan is not perfect it is usually a very bad reel of film that our old scanner typically couldn't scan very well.

Yes, we wish we had this machine years ago. But it was expensive and our old one still worked. But in the end, this gives a much nicer invoice to customers

For customers that order window stickers....please check the manila folder to make sure that your window sticker is not stuck to it.

We have had a few emails (not very friendly to say the least) accusing us of sending empty envelopes with no window stickers and ripping off customers. We have been around for over 35 years years and take it personally when we are accused of ripping off customers. We do our best to get them sent out as fast as we can and not damaged.

Here are pictures of how they are sent. They are in two manila folders and taped on the sides so they do not slide out and placed in an envelope. So please check before sending us a nasty email.

And also thank you to the customer (sorry forgot your name) that did email us back to say sorry and that it was stuck to the folder

A must do when you buy/sell a car. Make sure the vin ON the car matches the title. We have been getting quite a few orders with bad vins. Remember, the DMV does not know pre-1981 vins and messes up titles more than you would believe. We hear from customers every day about a bad title or us emailing them to let them know their vin is wrong.....only to find our they got it off the title/registration.

So please, before you buy/sell or order the info from us, make sure the vin is correct. It will only slow down the process if it is not right

We will start taking orders again the middle of next week. We appreciate everyone being patient as we catch up on the backlog of orders while our computer/scanner was down

Just a reminder that the window stickers will take a little longer too since we need the information from the cars to have them made.

We are also doing our best to get all the orders back to everyone by the weekend. Once we do we will have the order page turned back on.

11/1 update. We started getting orders sent back to customers the other day. We are going to get the backlog of orders done before we turn our order page back on.

We are getting a bunch of emails about new orders. But we have to get the ones back to customers that have been waiting first. There is still a learning curve for us with the new scanner but we are trying our best to learn it so we can speed the process up. The upside.....the new scanner does a much better job of scanning the microfilm compared to the old scanner. So this will be better for everyone in the long run

10/30.....BIG UPDATE. We now have our new scanner and computer set up. We will start getting orders back to customers as fast as we can. But please be patient as it will take some time

10/24 update. Our old computer does not seem like it can be saved, so we ordered a new scanner today so we can use a newer computer. We should have it next week and can start getting customers their orders sent back to them
