The Maintenance Minder removes all the guess work from routine maintenance services and when they are due. For your convenience the main and sub menu items and descriptions will be listed in this post.
The Honda and Acura Maintenance Minder main and sub menu items are as follows:
A: Engine oil and filter change.
B: Engine oil and filter change.
Four wheel brake inspection and maintenance service. Remove
brake calipers and brake pads, clean and lubricate brake caliper
brackets, shims, slide pins, pads and calipers to prevent binding,
seizing, premature brake wear, poor braking efficiency, dragging,
loss of fuel economy, transmission strain, rotor warping, and
premature wheel bearing failure due to excessive prolonged heat.
#1: Tire rotation. Inspect tread depth and set tire pressure. Perform
TPMS system calibration
#2: Replace engine and cabin air filters
#3: Automatic or manual transmission fluid change. Replace automatic transmission fluid filter. Replace transfer gear fluid.
***Automatic transmission filter and transfer case services updated per Honda/Acura maintenance service guidlines.
#4: 4 cylinder service. replace spark plugs, replace valve cover
gasket and spark plug tube seals, engine accessory drive belt.
Perform engine intake/exhaust valve lash clearance adjustment.
Clean mass airflow sensor and throttle body. Perform minimum
engine idle speed learn.
#4: 6 cylinder service. Replace camshaft timing belt, water pump,
camshaft timing belt tensioner, front camshaft and crankshaft
oil seals, valve cover gaskets, spark plug tube seals, spark plugs,
engine coolant, and engine accessory drive belt. Perform engine
valve lash clearance adjustment. Clean mass airflow sensor and
throttle body. Perform minimum engine idle speed learn.
#5: Cooling system drain and fill
#6: Rear differential fluid change
#7: Brake system fluid flush.
***brake fluid is hygroscopic. flushing recommended every 3
years or 30K miles for pre 2019 vehicles without #7 service
programmed into the maintenance minder system.
*** Engines are an "interference" design. Timing belt failure will cause pistons to contact and bend valves(internal engine damage), and require extensive labor to replace damaged valves.
