The Lynnwood Food Bank is in need of volunteers. Do you have some time to support?
Dear Friends,
As we continue our mission to serve our neighbors with dignity, justice, and compassion, I want to share an important update—and a heartfelt request for your support.
With the federal government shutdown, SNAP benefits in Washington are expected to end on November 1, putting more than one million Washingtonians at risk of losing vital food assistance. In response, the state has announced $2.2 million per week in emergency funding to help food banks meet the increased demand.
At Lynnwood Food Bank, we believe that food is love, food is health, food is culture, and food is community. As need continues to rise, we are taking proactive steps to prepare:
Placing additional food orders now to ensure we can meet the growing demand.
Accepting cash donations to respond quickly and purchase the most-needed items. (Donation link below or via QR code.)
Welcoming walk-in food donations and food drives to strengthen our supply of nutritious, culturally relevant foods.
Calling for volunteers, as our numbers have not returned to pre-COVID levels and every extra set of hands helps lighten the load.
We remain deeply committed to serving every person who comes to us—regardless of background, identity, or circumstance. We are grounded in community, equity, and the belief that everyone deserves access to nourishing food.
Now is the time to join the movement to serve our neighbors. Whether you give funds, food, or time—your support matters. You help fill our shelves, ease the burden on our volunteers, and keep our programs strong and resilient.
Thank you for being part of this vital work. Together, we will continue to show up for our community—in good times and challenging ones—and ensure no one is left behind.
Warmly,
Alissa Jones
Executive Director
