John Deere 404 Marine Engine Test Run on 10/12, engine was fully rebuilt with Maxiforce engine components and SB International, Inc. valve train components. Customer recently had the injection pump and injectors rebuilt and we tested the injectors to make sure within specification. Getting painted and going back to Maine end of this week, thank you Steve!

CAT 3306DI for Polaro Sand & Gravel Inc. we just finished and test ran today. Engine is out of a CAT 966G Wheel Loader, engine has 33,000 hours on it which equates to 1.98 million miles. These 3306’s are a fantastic engine that we’ve spent years rebuilding for customers. This one received the kitchen sink of parts and machine work. Rebuild post coming, Thank You Scott and team!

John Deere 404 Marine Cylinder Head getting resurfaced. Came late to the party on the 2nd pass, total of .010” was taken over 3 passes. Head had .043”! thickness remaining when we started and now has .033”…crazy! This head is off the block that we posted the other day.

CAT C16 Engine Block getting decked .004” on the first pass. Block had .024” deck height remaining when we started. Block was sandblasted before machine work started, all oil galley plugs will be pulled, galley’s brushed out, head bolt holes tapped and gasket surfaces prepped before final Jet Wash. Video is just showing the first pass of 3 that we took, deck was recut after for liner shims and lower counterbore area was good and did not need inserts installed.

John Deere 404 Marine engine block getting decked .003” on the first pass. Engine had .009” left on deck height when we started, we took .006” total over two passes. Our jet wash is getting maintenance done currently hence why the block wasn’t washed yet. Main line was torque checked, counter bores were cut to specification, gasket surfaces cleaned and head bolt holes tapped, now it’s ready for a Jet Wash and Assembly!

John Deere 404 Marine Engine Crankshaft being ground yesterday to .010”/.010”. This was the initial start cut on the #5 Rod journal that had spun.

Pair of John Deere 404 Marine Engines came in this week for full rebuild, removed from a 1977 42’ Grand Banks Classic (exact boat) out of Southern Maine

We already have both disassembled and machine work has started on the crankshafts (video getting posted today of first one getting ground .010”/.010”).

Main bearing is dated - 11/73
Rod bearing is dated - 1/74

Cummins ISX15 engine block getting decked before counterbores were cut. This was second pass at .002”, we took 3 passes totaling .005”. Counterbores were cut to accept .020” liner shims. Our customer wanted IPD Parts for his rebuild, which we provided.

Cummins X15 SOHC Cylinder Head Resurface

First pass of .003”

Customer wanted a resurface only, head was 2 years old and customer just wanted it freshened up. We took a second pass of .002” and head was ready

No warranty, no mag’ing, no pressure testing - customer was made well aware of the risks doing it this way and took full responsibility
