PLEASE READ AND SHARE! We need your support August 16 at 7PM!
Due to a squeaky wheel neighbor spreading some false information, i Colin DeHaan think it’s best to clear the air.
My wife and I purchased this property a year ago with hopes of building our dream barndo on it. We actually spent $10k on design, engineering and prints. Purchased $32k in garage doors even to build. Then we got a call one day.
It was a solar company offering to buy or lease our land to put be a part of the 1000 acre “solar farm” they’re starting permitting for. We were devastated due to the horrible effects a solar farm has the ground, water, and even the air creating “hot spots.” We refused to sell out and contribute to the food shortage and detriment of our lands.
But we also agreed we cannot risk building our home and it losing its value drastically like all homes did with the wind turbine project. So we found a nice little home on 40 acres a few miles north to call home.
Then we had to figure out a way for this property that we had already spent (above purchase price) $50k in dirt work (including permitting for ponds, driveway, and the building process) to make money and benefit our great county. We landed on an awesome track with the name Boon MX, meaning, an unexpected blessing. Because that is what Moto has been to us, and what we hope this property, that is sour now, turns into.
I am not “being investigated” for filling in wetlands. As a matter of fact we have only dug out dirt, not filled in. I have been in constant contact with EGL. And chances are, my dried up 200x400x15’ deep pond will prove that the land is simply wet clay that has not been maintained in years. I did have proper permits from mason county sewer and drain and did not realize I needed to include EGL as I thought county/local law superseded. Either way, Dave with the EGL and I have been in contact often and are working towards a solution for both parties.
Thank you all for your support, I am confident that this facility will be a blessing to all those who visit. We have great plans for it to be a positive impact on not just the businesses of mason county, but the people of mason county as well. Because we know that the tourist get all the attention at times. We have a plan for that!
Please show up and show beautiful Mason County how many people would benefit from this attraction!
Love y’all!
