Scott’s Complete Car Care is locally owned and operated by Scott Egert and has been serving Lubbock and the surrounding areas for over 25 years. If you’ve visited our shop, you have most likely met Scott as he is definitely a “hands-on” kind of businessman and can often be found greeting customers and managing the daily flow of business. Scott started in the automotive repair business working for
his Dad at Brake King. He moved into an ownership role in 1994 at the Texaco gas station at 7002 Indiana Avenue providing gas as well as auto repairs, eventually divesting the fuel side to focus on the full service repair side of the business. In 1997, he began expanding to additional locations. In 2000, he relocated the main shop to the front bays at 34th and University. In 2014, he bought that building and remodeled/built on to create the shop as it is today. He then consolidated business into the two locations: NW corner of 34th Street and University Avenue and 7002 Indiana Avenue. Scott and his wife, Rebecca S. Egert, a highly regarded local State Farm agent, are big believers in supporting their community. As parents living in a university town, they understand the concerns of other parents whose kids are far from home for the first time—and Scott and Becky were in a unique position to help. At the shop, Scott’s offers free “Trip Checks” which covers fluids, belts, tires, etc. for our customers. It occurred to Scott and Becky that a lot of the University students were heading out for Spring Break or home for the holidays in vehicles that may not be roadworthy. So, in 1998 they began hosting free “Car Care Clinics” at Texas Tech University and Lubbock Christian University just before those high volume student travel times. Scott sends out a crew to set up on campus and inspect vehicles. While they don’t do big repairs on the spot, they check fluid levels, tires, belts, etc. and notify the student if repairs are needed before traveling. They are dedicated supporters of Special Olympics as well, sponsoring and volunteering at the Spring Games and other events. Unfortunately, these events have not taken place recently due to the pandemic. Scott is a supporter of both local and state wide law enforcement. He serves as a board member of the Texas Ranger Association Foundation, Company “C”. They are proud supporters of the local universities and secondary schools in Lubbock, TX.
