🚨 PUBLIC SAFETY BULLETIN🚨

Temporary Fire Company Closings (Brownouts)

Car 3 the Deputy Chief command unit located at the Gorham Street fire station, has been shut down for the day shift, 8am-6pm. This means the southern half of the city is currently without its immediate, dedicated on-scene incident command.

Operating without this critical support means our department fails to meet industry standards and acceptable safety practices for span of control. For a city and department of our size, reducing our command structure limits our ability to safely manage complex emergency scenes, putting both the citizens and our responding crews at unnecessary risk.

In the event of an emergency, please anticipate increased wait times as our response will be coming from further away.
