🏁 SDC ROUND 6 — THE FINAL ROUND! 🏁

And just like that… our 2026 SDC Illinois Region season at Twisted Lanes Drift Circuit is officially in the books! What a way to finish it.

We had 14 drivers come out for our final round, and there was a LOT riding on this one. Going into Round 6, Juan Hernandez held a 9-point lead over Paxton Polanek, which meant the championship was still very much up for grabs.

Qualifying immediately brought the drama. Brody Stahulak was on an absolute heater and looked like he was about to take TQ, but right at the finish line he tapped the wall. 😭 That tiny mistake opened the door for Paxton to grab TQ once again and pick up some extremely important points toward the championship.

Then it was time for battles.

Juan and Paxton both knew exactly what was at stake. Every position mattered.

Unfortunately for Juan, he came up against Tanner Drews, and after an incredibly close battle, Tanner was able to edge him out. That ended Juan’s Round 6 run in 5th place and suddenly gave Paxton a HUGE opportunity to close that championship gap.

And Paxton did exactly what he needed to do.

He kept fighting his way through the bracket and ultimately WON ROUND 6, completing the TQ + event win when it mattered most. 🏆🔥

🥇 1st — Paxton Polanek
🥈 2nd — Mathew Myers
🥉 3rd — Tanner Drews
4️⃣ 4th — Wojtek Marek
⭐ TQ — Paxton Polanek

But after six rounds, countless battles, OMTs, wall taps, upsets and some seriously incredible driving, it all came down to TWO. POINTS.

🏆 2026 SDC ILLINOIS REGION CHAMPION —
Juan Carlos Hernandez— 68 POINTS
🥈 Paxton Polanek — 66 POINTS

TWO POINTS separated them after an entire season. 🤯

Juan came into the final round with a 9-point advantage, Paxton put together nearly the perfect final round with TQ and the win, and Juan’s points accumulated throughout the season were just enough to hold him off and take the Illinois Region Championship!

What a battle between these two all season long.

And we can’t end this without saying THANK YOU to every single driver who showed up this season. We’ve had drivers travel from Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota and beyond, first-time competitors jump into battles, newcomers improve round after round, and some of the closest tandem battles we’ve seen at Twisted Lanes.

Watching this region grow over these six rounds has been awesome. ❤️

Alright everyone, here is the registration link to our last round of SDC! Who is going to take home the gold? Who will be your Illinois Region champion? The points are close, Juan Carlos Hernandez is still your points leader with 61 points, with Paxton Polanek in a close second with 52 points.

🏁 SDC Illinois Region – Round 5 Recap 🏁

What an incredible day of competition at Twisted Lanes! We had 21 drivers representing Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, making Round 5 one of our biggest and most competitive events yet.

Congratulations to Paxton Polanek for taking Top Qualifier with an impressive 75-point qualifying run, the highest score of the night!

Before we reached our Top 16, we had a lower bracket to determine who would earn the final spots. One of the coolest moments of the day was watching Kris Hackenson and Julian who were both competing in their very first drift competition, battle each other. They both put down solid runs, but the first-to-crash rule came into play, allowing Julian to advance. Both drivers had an absolute blast, and we’re excited to have them back for many more events!

As the bracket progressed into the Top 8, the battles became tighter and more intense. One of the biggest upsets came when Top Qualifier Paxton battled Garrett. Unfortunately, Paxton found the wall, sending Garrett into the Final 4.

Our Final 4 consisted of:
🏎 Juan Hernandez
🏎 Tanner Drews
🏎 Garrett
🏎 Mason

Juan faced Garrett while Tanner battled Mason. Mason clipped the wall, allowing Tanner to advance, and Garrett also found the wall against Juan, setting up an exciting Juan vs. Tanner final.

Before the championship battle, we got to watch teammates Mason and Garrett battle it out for third place. It was awesome seeing two teammates leave everything on the track, with Mason earning 3rd Place and Garrett finishing 4th.

The championship battle between Juan and Tanner was exactly what everyone wanted to see. Both drivers laid down clean lead runs and strong chase runs, making it one of the closest finals we’ve had all season. In the end, it came down to just a 10-point difference, with Juan Hernandez taking the Round 5 victory!
