We've got some rodent damage here. It's amazing this car even ran. It belongs to a senior disabled Veteran. He brought it in for major suspension and exhaust repair. When I road tested it the car barely drove, stalling if I pressed on the accelerator any more than just a touch.
I called my customer and he stated, " yes it's been a problem for a while but I know how to drive it ". Another facility put in a mass air flow sensor as that code appeared on the scan, but it had no improvement. Some quick testing for voltage and a quick probe into the harness revealed this mess. I hope he can handle the fact that it will really operate as intended now!
Update: car drove much better but still had a code popping up for VSS. Tracked it down to another chewed wire going to the transmission.

Even some of the most reliable vehicles have design flaws that can cause catastrophic failures. Some late model Lexus & Toyota V6 engines come with rubber oil cooler hoses that can fail without warning causing oil to almost explode out of them causing sudden loss of oil pressure and immediate engine shutdown. This updated set up cures that issue.

This Chrysler 300 came if for "something hanging". They said they hit something in the road. The aluminum transmission support was obviously broken and we found the transmission pan severly rusted.
They were replaced along with the transmission mount.
You should always have your vehicle checked after running over objects, you never know what you'll find.

This excellent condition 2003 Dodge van had a hidden problem, discovered upon removal of a leaking a/c condenser. The transmission cooler hose had been seeping oil, collecting in the radiator and cooler, almost completely clogging them. When the customer was informed he stated, yes it wants to overheat on hot days. Problem found, cleaned, and solved.

This is a recent issue we encountered on a late model Jeep with the 3.6 engine. The oil filter housing under the intake manifold springs a leak causing the "valley" of the engine to fill with oil the spilling over the rear of the engine many times being confused with a rear main seal leak or transmission leak. Many issues can cause a car's heater to malfunction. Many times we find a inexpensive broken part buried in the instrument panel that just plain breaks. In this case a Camaro, with an obvious poorly designed blend door. Most times the entire dash must be removed to allow access to the door. I set the actuator (motor) next to it to show how it works. A Chevrolet dealer quoted $2500 to get into this repair, we did find an alternative to pulling the entire dashboard out, however it still took over 5 hours to repair. A better design by the manufacturer would have prevented this entire problem!

A/C leaks can be difficult to track down. Many vans and SUVs have rear air conditioning which includes a core inside a box or housing which is located inside the rear quarterpanel. The inner fender and interior trim must be removed just to gain access to the heater a/c box. The box is then removed to swap out the evaporator core which was the leaking component evidenced by the refrigerant oil stain in the highlighted area. Several hours are typically required for these types of repairs.
