‼️ Action Alert: Protect the Yampa’s wilderness ‼️

Some of the most treasured parts of the Yampa — including Little Yampa Canyon, Cross Mountain Canyon, and the entirety of Dinosaur National Monument — are at risk.

The Department of the Interior is currently conducting a sweeping review of policies governing how wilderness is managed by its federal land management agencies, including the Bureau of Land Management, US Fish and Wildlife Service, and National Park Service. This review opens the door to weakening protections that safeguard nearly 200 million acres of designated Wilderness, Wilderness Study Areas, Lands with Wilderness Characteristics, and recommended Wilderness across these three agencies.

In the Yampa Basin, this could impact areas known for providing critical wildlife habitat, high water quality, and unparalleled rafting, paddling, and angling experiences. See the map linked in our comments, released by The Wilderness Society, for a detailed look at which lands are under threat.
