Frequently asked questions:
Q: What are projectors? Why do I need them?
A: Projectors utilize HID style bulbs, then concentrates the light beam for better overall sight in any weather condition. They focus the light in a manner that is safe for oncoming traffic while giving you better forward throw and overall performance. Projectors also have a built in high beam. This allows for consistent control and the ability to have an instant HID high beam.
Q: Can I just use an LED bulb instead of projectors?
A: LEDs are far less effective in overall performance. They scatter light instead of focusing the light pattern as with a projector.
Q: What are demon eyes?
A: A demon eye is a series of small LEDs inside a projector that causes it to glow as if it were an eye. These are available in a variety of color options as well as a color changing option controlled remotely.
Q: What are halos?
A: Halos are rings on the inside or the outside of the projector shroud. They too come in a wide variety of color options as well as an option to change the color via a remote. Halos come in three tier options.
Tier One: While this is the most expensive option, this one has the most functionality. Tier One Halos have a color changing option that includes scroll, swirl, rainbow, and other options. These are controlled via a remote control and requires a diffuser to make them look uniform
Tier Two: This is the mid-line option in both cost and function. These are the brightest and most vivid. They too require a diffuser to make the look uniform. They are usually pre-assembled and can be ran either via a Bluetooth controller or remote.
Tier Three: This is the most cost effective option of the three. They have a solid color, while limiting you to a hard remote option.
Q: What options do I have to control my demon eyes and/or halos?
A: You can control your demon eyes or halos either via a remote or a Bluetooth adapter that utilizes an app on your smart phone. Halo controls will depend on the tier.
Q: What are switchbacks?
A: Switchbacks are bulbs that are white in color under normal operation and change to amber when turn signal is turned on until the signal is turned off.
Q: Will all of these modifications drain my battery?
A: Each option has a separate power source. This allows for the car to be off, and the lights remain operational. LEDs will consume the least amount of battery draw, while HIDs will require a significant inrush to start the ballast, once powered they will use a minimal amount of power thereafter. All of this will still drain the battery significantly less than a standard halogen bulb.
