This is a common issue on the newer model GMC Savana. The spring used to restrict the ability to siphon fuel gets blocked by the plastic flap at the end of the filler neck causing the inability to add fuel. I can imagine how many service calls could be avoided if a campaign to remove the flap was issued. Starts at the TMA model 🙃

I have yet to understand why I always find the weird sh*t. Any ideas? I went to replace the tank and found this 🤣. I wonder if there are more issues with the parking brake system since this looks like its been this way for a while.

I have specialized in for more than 20 years. So my customer gets upset that I report what I see even if it's a truck I am not working on, thinking I am looking for work. Just this past couple weeks while laying under an E450 replacing battery cables I see a F650 with a rear inner hub seal leaking 🙃. 2 different GMC Savana 1 has an electrical issue the other a seat adjuster issue, both need radiators. Under 1 truck inspecting the tank (vandalized) and find another with the catalytic converter stolen 🙄. Then a E450 fuel cap light on cause they cut the vent hose and I find another inner hub seal leak. Maybe I should put blinders on while working 🤣🤣🤣

The most important tool you have when diagnosing is observation. 2014 GMC Savana P0171 and p0174 can be anything on these trucks. This is a first for me.

For me it's all about understanding why I need to replace a part. I know when the OEM radio fails, it usually gets stuck on 1 station, won't turn on but has power, no volume control, but absolutely no power to the radio on this E450 6.8L. Once I started taking it apart, it would flash the time on. So the understanding part is how the dent at the top of the radio got there without damaging any of the dash 🤔. Was this part from another truck? Hummmmm

Diagnosing a P0451 on a Ford E450 6.8l. Just came out of a shop. Wired the fuel tank pressure sensor incorrectly and then didn't even properly heat shrink. As delicate as electrical is, this should have at least been covered in electrical tape

I have always tried to take pride in my work, even if it's an easy job. Like replacing a fuel filler hose on a gmc cutaway. I am called out for a fuel leak thinking maybe the tank got drilled or the hose is cut. But instead find a new hose 3 inches longer than it needed to be and installed incorrectly on the tank so there is a kink in the hose and fuel kicks back 🤪
