​Just because a chassis has billions of views on social media does NOT mean it’s automatically the undisputed king of the heritage.

​But actually walking through rows of deep Toyota history makes you look at the 2JZ hype a little differently.

​And honestly? Sometimes the upfront six-figure price tag is the least ridiculous part of the legend. You also have to think about:
•​ The heavy iron-block weight distribution
• ​A plastic 90s cockpit dashboard that hasn't aged well
• ​The reality that a stock MK4 is a heavy grand-tourer, not a nimble track tool
•​ The sheer anxiety of risking a massive financial investment on public roads

​I think modern enthusiasts feel intense pressure to call the MK4 the ultimate GOAT because nobody wants to get roasted by internet fanboys...

One thing shooting high-end builds has taught me REAL fast?

​Just because a car has carbon fiber bolted to it does NOT mean it’s actually a clean setup.

​’s MK7 GTI actually turned out beautifully, the weave alignment and ex*****on are absolute perfection.

​But seeing what it takes to actually live with a high-end setup like this on a daily driver will have you rethinking things for a minute. Most people just see the aesthetics on social media, but they forget that the upfront price of the parts is usually the easiest part.

You also have to think about:
• ​UV rays oxidizing and yellowing the clear coat within a year
•​ Daily road debris pitting and chipping the pristine weave
• ​Temperature changes warping raw composite panels over time
•​ The constant paranoia of rock chips every time you hit the highway
•​ Keeping it protected without ruining the deep, mirror-like finish

​I think beginner builders feel intense pressure to slap a carbon hood on everything because they want that aggressive look... But if you aren’t actively protecting it, a premium weave turns into a hazy, ruined mess real fast. Some lessons in car culture are learned the expensive way.

The S-chassis crowd loves to talk about "soul," but they’re usually just talking about a car that spends 90% of its life on jack stands. The JZX is a boat, the Skyline is a museum piece, and the AE86 is just an overpriced tin can held together by nostalgia and zip-ties.

​The 350Z is the only chassis that actually makes sense in 2026. This Z33, stanced on deep-dish VSKFs, is a masterclass in results over hype.
