What is it?
This is our reimagined shifter/radio trim for Nissan S13 240SX’s and 200SX’s. Over 30+ years, the clip mounts break, and so does the material around it in the thin areas.
Why did we make these?
It’s true, eBay and other marketplaces have OEM used parts for sale in varying condition and prices. Some cheaper than ours, some more expensive. You shouldn’t have to gamble your money on a 30 year old piece of plastic. Even if you get one that looks great, chances are, you’re just one disassembly or wrong move away from it being useless.
What makes ours different from the OEM part?
Our part comes in a matte finish. Maybe people wonder why we made the finish matte vs glossy like all of the other parts on the market. The answer is simple: because that is the original finish of the OEM part by Nissan. It’s only over time, sun damage, and heavy UV exposure that the finish turns glossy and all of a sudden doesn’t really match the rest of the interior.
Our part also features mounting points that are twice the original thickness to ensure that these will never break. Lastly, we use metal threaded inserts instead of having to use the plastic to create threads for the clips and shift boot retainer hardware. Overall, metal threaded inserts will always be stronger that the plastic. This is a small touch that makes the biggest difference.
How do we make it?
The part is ABS, and the hardware is actually insert molded into the part. The material is able to flow around the insert, ensuring that it is permanently affixed. These inserts are not melted or glued in.
