After a month, I finally posted the first part of the trip from and to Les Sables d'Olonne!
100NM to discover the boat with Jim and Marianne, new happy owners of this Excess 14.
Getting out of the marina through the channel where dozens of IMOCA boats from the vender globe has passed was quite impressive!
First night at anchor a l'Ile d'Yeu, where we head to shore for a nice dinner.
Day 2: heading North with a stop by l'Ile de Houat and it's famous long white sans beach, some dolphins on the way!
Day 3: Quiberon to pick up the EPIRB and a new tender, then sail back to Les Sables, passing by the beautiful Belle-Île en mer, pointe des poulains, port cotton needles, following a full night sailing to practice.
Day 4, arriving back to Les Sables around noon, and practicing anchoring.
Despite some unfortunate adventures, the boat is sailing very well, with interesting performances on light wind, as we were side to side with a fast 9m trimaran.
Next post about the Bay of Biscaye crossing.
