Captain Martin Curtin took some of the Curtin Maritime down to Isla de Cedros, Baja California, this week for another round of fishing with Cedros Sportfishing BCM and absolutely scored again!

Big yellowtail and plenty of action out on the pangas. The team enjoyed some incredible fresh-caught food, good laughs, and a little island time, and you've got another amazing Cedros Island trip for the books.

Hiring now:

• Ship Assist & Es**rt Captain — $625–$1,080/day
Master of Towing Vessels (Near Coastal) or 500 GRT Master, Near Coastal w/ TOAR • TWIC • Radar Observer Unlimited • MROP FCC • STCW Survival Craft • CG Medical (no night restrictions)

• Ship Assist & Es**rt Mate — $450–$750/day
Mate of Towing Vessels (Near Coastal) or 500 GRT Mate, Near Coastal w/ TOAR • TWIC • MROP FCC • Radar Unlimited • STCW Survival Craft • CG Medical (no night restrictions)

• Deckhand/AB — $280–$475/day

Prior ship-assist/es**rt experience in the San Pedro Bay Port Complex (or a comparable high-traffic deep-draft harbor) is strongly preferred for all roles. ASD/Z-drive experience is a major plus.

Meet my new friends, Dinah, Bruce, and Traci Garrido.

Many months ago, this young lady, Dinah, made a wish: to ride aboard a tugboat. Her wish was heard, and eventually, through a chain of connections, she was introduced to Curtin Maritime, Corp. This week, our team had the incredible honor of helping make that wish come true!

Dinah came aboard the Elizabeth C as part of our crew, along with her husband, Bruce, and daughter, Traci. But we didn’t just let her ride along—we put her to work! Dinah actually maneuvered us away from the dock and over to the pier to pick up the riding crew.

It was an absolute pleasure and an honor to host Dinah and her family. I will cherish this experience forever. Seeing the joy and excitement on her face throughout the day is something that will stay with me for the rest of my life.

I’m incredibly proud to have been a small part of making Dinah’s wish come true, and I’m so thankful to be part of a team that is willing to go above and beyond to create an experience she’ll never forget.

Sometimes, what may seem like just another day at work to us can become a lifelong memory for someone else. Today was one of those days. ❤️⚓️

Curtin showed up for Coastal Cleanup Day earlier this month! Big thanks to everyone who came out to Belmont Pier, brought family along, or supported the effort behind the scenes. Lots of little helpers, great energy, and a whole lot of trash off the beach.
