9th Annual Camo Hat Day | Friday, September 11th

On September 11th, Vander Haag’s will celebrate Camo Hat Day in memory of our friend and former employee, Marlyn Van Tol, a truck driver who tragically lost his life after being struck by a distracted driver in 2017.

Marlyn was rarely seen without his hat, and he especially loved his Vander Haag’s camo hat. Wearing one is a simple way to honor his memory and remind us of the devastating impact of distracted driving.

We invite our customers, friends and trucking community to join us!

The right individual must be a self-motivated leader with high personal goals and objectives. This individual will lead an experienced team of 5 - 6 full time employees. This position is responsible to manage the day-to-day operations in both Parts Sales as well as our Shipping & Receiving team for this growing store location! 3 - 5 year’s experience working in sales and a leadership position is preferred.

An ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational skills as well as strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Prior experience working with parts inventory software is preferred. Having some mechanical knowledge is a plus but not required. We will invest in training and development for the right candidate.

We have a full time opportunity to join our growing team at our London, OH, location! We are currently searching for a qualified individual to serve as a Facilities Maintenance Technician.

This position will be responsible for assisting with a wide range of different projects related to the buildings and grounds. This position will work outside on a regular basis and occasionally operate heavy equipment (forklift, payloader, skidsteer, etc.) depending on the requirements of the project. Working closely with the General Manager, the Facilities Maintenance Technician will identify and complete needed repairs/updates to keep facilities functional and efficient.

Qualifications: 2 - 5 years prior construction and/or building maintenance experience is preferred. Must be willing and able to perform a wide variety of construction-related tasks and projects.

Hours: Day shift hours, Monday through Friday. No evenings, weekends, or holidays required!

Compensation: Hourly rate will range from $20.00 - $23.00 per hour ($53,000 - $62,000/year) depending on experience level.

Our Dismantlers (Demanufacturing Technicians) are at the very heart of our used and core parts process. Working in their own shop bay, each of our techs removes body parts, engine & drivetrain components; inspects parts; and assists with entering parts into our state-of-the-art inventory management system.

On-the-job training and formal classroom training by our in-house ASE Certified Trainer is provided! Our technicians get paid while they learn!

Hours: Day shift hours, Monday through Friday. Consistent day shift hours with no evenings, weekends, or holidays required!

Vander Haag's offers an enormous selection of used and rebuilt parts for our customers throughout the entire United States. At the heart of this process is our Yard Parts Technician.

This job primarily works outdoors in our salvage yard retrieving parts ordered by our customers. This position regularly uses hand tools, torch, and operates heavy equipment. This job performs a variety of tasks each day including:
• Collecting scrap material and pulling parts
• Performing part inspection and identification
• Relocating dismantled and non-dismantled units within the salvage yard
• Scrapping aged trucks from the salvage yard
• Maintaining yard cleanliness and organization
• Assisting customers with loading/unloading

This position does work outdoors on a regular basis, primarily independently .

Hours: Day shift hours, Monday through Friday. No evenings, weekends, or holidays required!

We currently have an opening for a Parts Sales position at our store location in Columbus, Ohio!

The position requires exceptional customer service skills as well as the ability to be an adaptable team player. In this role, you will be required to "wear several different hats" throughout the course of the day. An ideal candidate will have strong problem solving skills as well as basic computer skills. Prior sales experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities of the job include: selling new, used, and rebuilt heavy duty truck parts; assisting walk in customers at the parts counter; working with the service department for parts needed in the shop; taking parts calls by phone; assisting with inventory control; and prospecting and cold calling on potential new customers. This position will help out in a variety of other jobs and departments on an as-needed basis as well.

Hours: Day shift hours, Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday mornings by rotation.
