This Porsche Cayenne made the trip out to us from the Bay Area for a little help with the audio system.

The customer had already upgraded the front speakers to the Focal P60 Limited Edition set, but they were still running off the factory Bose amplifier and he just wasn’t getting the sound he was hoping for.

Enter Dynamic Audio.

Our recommendation was a HELIX V EIGHTEEN DSP paired with a NAV-TV ZEN interface. This gave us a clean digital signal from the factory system, plenty of power, and most importantly, the DSP control to properly tune everything and get those Focals sounding the way they should.

We kept the rest of the factory Bose speakers in the system, including the factory Bose subwoofer, and integrated everything into the HELIX.

A couple things were especially important on this one: no cutting factory wiring, 100% reversible, and no equipment taking up usable space. Everything we added was installed using our plug-and-play approach and completely hidden out of sight. Open the doors or cargo area and everything still looks factory — exactly how we like it.

After a proper DSP tune, it was a completely different system. Those Focal P60s finally got a chance to show what they can do!

Had to pull the engine out of this 2025 Corvette C8 just to install the new Uniden R9W Extreme radar/laser defense system.

Worth it? Absolutely.

(For the Corvette owners having a mild heart attack… relax. 😏 We didn’t actually pull the engine. But it sure looks like it.)

This one was a fun project.

This mint-condition blue Chevy Silverado 1500 square body is a true survivor. It’s a single-owner truck, and being a diesel makes it even harder to find one this clean. When a vehicle has been cared for this well, you don’t just start cutting things up. Every part of this install was planned to keep the truck looking as original as possible.

The owner wasn’t after a loud system with a bunch of bass. He just wanted to enjoy his music more and hear all the little details that get lost in an older vehicle.

One of the biggest upgrades wasn’t even the speakers—it was making the truck quieter. We covered just about everything with SoundSkins sound treatment: the roof, floor, firewall, rear wall, doors, and both the inner and outer door skins. Less road noise, fewer rattles, and a much better environment for the speakers to do their job.

For the source, we went with Sony’s XAV-AX6000. It’s one of our favorite radios thanks to its super-responsive glass capacitive touchscreen and simple, clean interface. Since the factory dash only accepts the original single-DIN radio, we ordered a replacement dash bezel designed for a double-DIN unit like the Sony. The catch? It only came in black. To keep the interior looking as factory as possible, we custom dyed the bezel to match the original blue dash. After a lot of time dialing in the color, it came out looking like it belonged there from the factory.

From there, everything feeds into a Helix V Eight DSP Ultimate, giving us complete control over every speaker in the truck.

To keep everything looking factory, we designed and 3D printed all of the speaker adapters in-house. Up front, we installed Helix Compose i7 tweeters and i7 W165 woofers in the factory locations, and in the rear C-pillars we used Helix Compose 4x6 speakers so everything stayed right where Chevy intended.

The end result is exactly what we were after. It still looks like the same classic square body on the inside, but it’s a whole different experience behind the wheel. Quieter, cleaner, and packed with detail—without adding a single subwoofer.

Sometimes the best upgrades are the ones that look like they were always supposed to be there.

So when this mint example rolled into the shop, we knew it deserved something special. As a first-time customer, he found us through word-of-mouth recommendations and trusted us to design a system that would bring the technology and sound quality up to today’s standards while preserving everything that makes this SUV so iconic.

The heart of the system is the new Modus AIM 10 head unit, serving as the control center for the entire build. Paired with Audiotec Fischer electronics and transducers, it’s a match made in heaven. The integration between the Modus platform and Audiotec Fischer components is seamless, combining advanced DSP processing, premium amplification, and precision-engineered speakers and subwoofers into one cohesive system. Powering the system is an Audiotec Fischer A 206 DSP for the full-range speakers and a HELIX A 201 dedicated to the subwoofers.

Every factory speaker was upgraded to HELIX Compose Ci3 165 coaxials, creating a balanced and detailed listening experience throughout the cabin. Low-end performance comes from two HELIX K 10-inch shallow subwoofers housed in a custom down-firing enclosure designed specifically for the Excursion. It delivers powerful, controlled bass while preserving valuable cargo space.

To complement the audio system, we integrated EchoMaster PHD5N1 cameras on both the front and rear, giving the driver better visibility and making it much easier to maneuver a full-size SUV like the Excursion.

Our goal with every build is to make the upgrades feel like they belong in the vehicle. Clean integration, thoughtful design, and performance that exceeds expectations—without compromising what made the vehicle special in the first place.
