It is with the deepest sorrow I have ever felt that I announce the passing of my dad Guy Maiorka. He was so much more than a dad to me and I'll truly miss our conversations about life, cars, flying, and many other topics we would discuss.
I know many will offer their condolences to me and my family but I in return also want to offer my condolences to his many friends and those that looked up to him as a Dad for themselves, mentor, friend, and counselor at times. He had a heart of gold and his weakest trait was not being able to say no to people in need.
We as a family will be hosting a celebration of his life in the very near future. It would mean a lot to have everyone there that he touched in some way and hear those stories.
March 2, 1947 - September 17, 2021 aged 74. While these two dates define the moment he was born and the moment he departed for his eternal life with our father in heaven, it is the dash that means more than the beginning and the ending. The dash is what defines us and what we do with that dash is more important than the other two dates. Our dad lived a great life and lived it to the fullest of his ability. He always had a beautiful smile and was quick to crack a joke or two to help ease someone's day. There were of course times when a joke was not necessary and just a friendly ear to listen to your problems and he was always honored to be that person in someone's life.
I know he will be missed by many and that is what truly warms my heart, knowing he meant so much to those eases the pain.
