Sometimes Finding the Problem Takes Longer Than Fixing It
Here's something most people don't realize:
The actual repair can sometimes take less time than diagnosing the problem.
Replacing a failed component might take 30 minutes.
Finding out which component failed could take considerably longer.
That's especially true with electrical problems.
Wiring issues can send a mechanic down several roads before the evidence finally points to the culprit.
And anyone who has worked on an older Harley knows that previous repairs, modifications, accessories, alarms, stereo systems, lighting, and questionable wiring can turn a simple electrical problem into an archaeological expedition.
