The two-foot extended swim deck is what actually gets used on a pontoon like this, and it’s the line people skip on the spec sheet. Kids go off the back all afternoon, and the stainless ladder retracts so you don’t have to haul yourself over a rail.

The 2026 Viaggio X20C runs 23.2 feet with an 8.5-foot beam. It has a glass windscreen at the helm instead of the flimsy plastic you see on a lot of pontoons, and the captain’s chair reclines and slides, which you’ll appreciate two hours into a slow lap of Androscoggin.

Power is Suzuki DF115. It’s the right size for this boat with a full load, and the frame comes ski-tow ready.

The full walk-through windshield is the part people underrate on a 16-foot aluminum boat. You step through instead of climbing over the console, and on a cold morning with cold hands, that matters.

The 2026 Lowe FM 1675 WT is all-welded, 16.8 feet long, with an 86-inch beam and a dry weight of 1,154 pounds, so most half-ton trucks won't notice it back there. Two aerated livewells, 14 gallons in the bow and 19 in the stern, plus a seven-foot rod locker with six tubes.

Power is in the Mercury 90 ELPT FourStroke. We'll take the 90 over the smallest engine that technically fits, every time. You feel it with three people and gear aboard on Wilson Lake.

Happy Grandparents Day from all of us on Park Street.

Most of us learned to bait a hook standing next to a grandfather. He probably did the first few for you and then handed the worm over.

Big Bump opened this place and his grandson Kurt runs it now, with Gavin coming up behind him. Bill and Nancy still show up to work the boat shows with us. That's four generations of one family who have had a hand in this business.

If you've got a grandchild who first rode on the bow with you, you already know why we do this.

One night at 10 below zero in Livermore Falls will find every drop of water you left in that engine. Freeze-thaw runs November to April here, and it does not miss.

Let us find it first. Our techs pull every drain plug, change the lower unit oil and inspect it for signs of a failing seal, so problems turn up now instead of in May. We also run treated fuel all the way through before topping off the tank for the winter.

Air in the seventies over water in the low sixties fools people every fall.

You dress for the air and go over the side without planning on it. Fifteen minutes later your hands have quit working.

We suggest keeping a dry bag with a fleece and a watch cap in the boat from here on. It'll live under the console until the one morning it doesn't.

Same goes for the inflatable. A Mustang belt pack rides so easy you forget it's on, which is the only kind anybody actually wears in October.

Happy Labor Day from all of us at Gagnon's!

The phone gets answered before eight. An estimate gets written between two other jobs, a part gets chased down that was supposed to show up Tuesday, and somebody backs a trailer into a spot with two inches to spare.

From the techs and the team at the parts counter to the person who grabbed the phone on the second ring and whoever stayed late on a Friday to get a boat out the door, our employees worked hard through the busy stretch so no one had to wait any longer than necessary to get their boat back in the water.

Thanks to the crew for that, and thanks to you for keeping them busy.
