55 Friday 💙 | Making a Difference Beyond the Water

For 55 years, Overby Marine has been about more than boats. It's about family, community, and making a difference in the lives of those around us.

One cause especially close to our hearts is Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina. Joe Overby has proudly served on the organization's Board of Directors for the past two years, helping support its mission to bring hope, strength, and joy to children facing critical illnesses.

Last night, members of our team had the honor of attending the 2026 Make-A-Wish Ball, and what an incredible evening it was! Together, supporters raised more than $1 MILLION in one night, enough to grant 97 wishes for children right here in our community. 💙✨

But there's still work to do. 274 children across Eastern North Carolina are still waiting for their wishes to come true. Every dollar raised and every community effort brings us one step closer to giving these kids and their families something truly special.

We're proud to support an organization that makes such a meaningful impact, and we're already looking ahead to our annual Battle of the Blues event this March! 💙🏀 Stay tuned for details as we come together once again to support Make-A-Wish and help grant even more wishes.

A heartfelt thank-you to for a wonderful evening and for all you do to make life-changing wishes come true. We're grateful to be part of a community that shows up for such an incredible cause!

Help us wish Rufus Overby a very happy birthday! 🎉

As Vice President of Overby Marine and the leader of our Kittrell location, Rufus plays a huge role in continuing the family legacy that began back in 1971. Since stepping into leadership in 2006, he has continued to lead with the same dedication, integrity, and commitment to customer service that have been at the heart of our business from the beginning.

Rufus is the kind of leader who puts people first, takes pride in helping families get on the water, and makes sure every customer is treated like family. His hard work, generous spirit, and passion for what he does mean so much to our team and the business we've built together.

We're grateful for everything Rufus brings to Overby Marine and proud to have him carrying on the family tradition! Happy Birthday, Rufus! We hope you have a wonderful day! 🚤❤️

55 Fridays 🚤 | Lake Gaston

In 2009, Joe and Caroline Overby took the next step in growing the family business and opened Overby Marine Lake Gaston, right on the water beside Eaton Ferry Marina. What started as an expansion of the Overby family legacy has grown into a full-service marine destination built around one thing: making boating easier for our customers.

Our Lake Gaston location features more than 15,000 square feet of climate-controlled indoor showroom space, making it comfortable to shop for your next boat no matter the weather. Just steps from the showroom, you'll find our 7,000-square-foot state-of-the-art service shop, located right on the banks of Lake Gaston.

Being right on the water allows us to provide a level of convenience and service that's hard to match. Need service? Simply drive your boat to our docks, drop it off, and we'll take care of it from there. No trailering across town. No loading and unloading. Just convenient service from a team that knows your boat.

Today, we're proud to serve our boating community through two convenient locations: our original Kittrell location, where it all began in 1971, and our Lake Gaston location right to the water. No matter which location you visit, you'll find the same family values and commitment to customer service that have guided us for 55 years.

That's one of the biggest advantages of choosing your local dealer. The relationship doesn't end when you purchase your boat. Your dealer is there for maintenance, service, parts, accessories, questions, and everything else that comes with owning a boat for years to come.

For 55 years, we've believed that selling the boat is just the beginning of the relationship. We're proud to continue that tradition at both Kittrell and Lake Gaston. Come see what local service looks like at Overby Marine! 🚤
