This early 6.0L Powerstroke was towed into Black Cat Diesel with a classic crank-no-start condition. Upon arrival, we were able to get the truck started, but it had little to no throttle response and struggled to stay running. Once the engine began to reach operating temperature, it stalled and returned to the same crank no start condition.

Upon diagnosis, the IPR valve and ICP sensor readings pointed toward a high-pressure oil leak. We performed an air test on the high-pressure oil system and observed air bubbling back through the oil filter housing, along with a small but noticeable leak under each valve cover.

To pinpoint the failure, we removed the turbocharger and HPOP cover to perform another air test, where air was found leaking past the shaft seal on the high-pressure oil pump. The pump was removed and bench tested, confirming the same failure. We then air-tested the remaining components of the high-pressure oil system to verify no additional leaks were present.

This customer opted to go with the Dieselsite Adrenaline high-volume HPOP to help support the 190/30 injectors installed in the truck, while eliminating the weak points of the factory early style HPOP’s.

To complete the repair we installed the new Dieselsite Adrenaline HPOP, and then resealed the HPOP cover and turbo feed/drain lines with fresh OEM gasket kits.

Another 6.0L diagnosed and repaired properly with only the best parts for the application!

This truck came into the shop with a high-pressure fuel leak at the fuel rail pressure sensor. The customer had already replaced the sensor, but unfortunately, the leak continued.

After further diagnosis, we found the passenger-side high pressure fuel rail was the source of the issue. While inspecting the rest of the fuel system, we also discovered several dry-rotted low pressure rubber fuel hoses in the engine bay.

Rather than simply fixing the immediate leak, we also replaced all 5 rubber fuel connection hoses in the engine bay to help prevent future failures, unexpected downtime, and another trip back to the shop.

At Black Cat Diesel, we believe in fixing the problem right — not just putting a band-aid on it.

Out with the old, in with the new!

This 6.7L Powerstroke experienced a failure of its CP4 injection pump, which thankfully had been previously outfitted with an S&S Disaster Prevention Kit - saving the injectors, along with the rest of the high pressure + low pressure fuel systems from metal contamination and expensive repair costs.

Rather than replacing it with a new (yet still problematic) CP4, this truck was upgraded with the SPE Motorsport CP3 conversion, for an absolutely bulletproof solution.

Although a part may be discontinued and unavailable anywhere new or used, it doesn't necessarily mean that your truck is doomed. This customer faced a similar dilemma when their parking brake bracket broke, causing the brake shoes to slip off and lock up the wheel end. Fortunately, we were able to repair the bracket in-house and get the customer back on the road, making money once again!

Andddd…… we’re mobile! We’re still working on getting the new service truck outfitted fully in order to better service our customers, so please be patient during this time. We service anything from light duty through class 8 trucks and farm/construction equipment and trailers.
