Had a Tacoma customer ask about ceramic coating for his truck. I had just received DP paint coating to try out, so we gave it a go.

Truck was washed, clayed and 1 step polished before being wiped down with DP coating prep spray which removes any polishing oil residues that would prohibit the coating from sticking to the paint correctly.

At this point, the truck was ready for coating, so I had at it. This Tacoma now wears 2 coats of DP coating and looked brilliant in the shop and in the sun after it was done.

Had a Chevy Silverado for a new customer who wanted an interior only detail. Inside of truck had not been previously cleaned for probably the last several years at least.

Lots of dirt, mud and grime build up. Not really as bad as it could have been I suppose, all things considering. Heavy lifting done with Meguiars APC and several disposable microfiber towels. Got everything cleaned up/dusted off, then used Meguiars plastic and vinyl coating to dress and protect the plastics.

Even though this was a regular cab truck, this job ended up taking exactly 2 hours from start to finish. Owner was extremely pleased with the turnaround.

Here, we have a Chevy Cruze for an interior only. Deep cleaned the interior, shampooed the carpets and mats, cleaned, dressed and protected the plastics and vinyl.

Had a bunch of lotion type residue on the steering wheel that took some effort to remove, but came out very well. Owner was beyond pleased, and this job took about 90-100 minutes.

Took a break for a little while, have some pictures to post from a few recent jobs.

Had a Ford F250 in for 2 layers of CQuartz lite. Performed an aggressive wash to remove any protection it may have previously had. Clay barred and 1 step polish before a wipe down with CarPro Eraser to remove any polishing oils before finally applying 2 layers of CQuartz.

Basic interior/exterior on this 2005 Acura TL today. Trying out a new photo layout instead of dumping 20+ pictures.

2 bucket wash, clay mitt, Hydr02 spray sealant, Meguiars Hyper Dressing for tires and trim underhood.

Shampooed carpets, degreased and dressed rubber floor mats. Cleaned dash and door panels with Meguiars APC and dressed. Windows cleaned in/out with Meguiars glass cleaner.

DONE!

Second detail this week was on a Volvo XC60 T6 Polestar.
Same as the Tahoe, as in, vehicle stays outside 24/7 and had lots of surface staining. This vehicle was a test for my very first application of a ceramic coating.

This time, I started with the exterior. Using Iron-X, I chemically decontaminated the paint from any ferrous metal particles of which there were quite a few bad spots, mostly at the rear by the exhaust, and the wheels of course. Once the wheels and exhaust were cleaned up, I popped the hood and began restoring the headlights. These lights had quite a bit of oxidation on the top surfaces and were turning cloudy/yellow. Unsightly. Sanded from 1,000 grit to 3,000 grit, compounded and polished then ceramic coated.

While the hood was up, I decided to clean the engine bay just for good measure as that usually takes about 10 minutes or so. Once the bay was cleaned/degreaser, I conditioned all the rubbers and plastic and then dressed. Closed the hood and moved on the wash.

Again, using Meguiars gold class soap cut with all purpose cleaner, I made short work of the wash and then clayed the surface. Once playing was comer, I used a panel wipe product to remove any polishing oils or grease present on the paint to prepare for the ceramic coating.

Applied DP ceramic paint coating using a Lake Country coating applicator. This was very easy to use and the results were immediate. Every surface is extremely slick and the vehicle looks dripping wet even when fully dry. Amazing. This coating should provide 1 year of protection.

Moved to the interior, vacuumed, brushed and vacuumed again, cleaned leather seats and applied Meguiars leather balm. Leather balm also used on leather door panel inserts, rest of door panels, dash got deep cleaned and dressed. Windows cleaned in/out, tires shined, door jambs cleaned.

I ran out of time to take pictures of the completed interior and am waiting on customer to take pictures and send them to me. Once I have the after interior pictures, will add them to this post.

Had 2 pre paid details this week. One on a Tahoe, the other on a Volvo XC60 T6. I'll start with the Tahoe. Client wanted interior/exterior with sealant.

This vehicle was filthy from sitting outside under a tree when not being used. This truck only has 80,000 miles on it and is a 2003. I started with the interior. Vacuumed, brushed and vacuumed again. Deep cleaned leather surfaces and conditioned. Cleaned all plastic surfaces and dressed.

I then moved to the exterior and it received an aggressive wash procedure using APC (all purpose cleaner) and Meguiars gold class car shampoo. This combo cuts thru the grime and surface staining easily. For the more stubborn areas, I pretreated with a strong cleaner and let dwell for a few moments before washing that area again.

After washing, lots of surface contaminants were in the paint and felt rough. Used a BlackFire clay mitt and the wash soap as lubrication. Then an application of CarPro Iron-X. Once that was rinsed off, the surface was smooth, shiny and ready for protection.

Using CarPro Hydr02, I sprayed this onto 2 body panels at a time, starting with the roof and hosed off. Instant, strong protection for 3 months. Dried vehicle off with a Chemical Guys waffle weave drying towel. Opened all doors up and wiped down all door jambs before applying a spray wax, then dressed the tires and wheel wells with a water based dressing.
