One of the required courses for Chaplin training was sexual abuse of children.
It was astounding that 90% of the abuse is by people that the child knows and trusts.
They groom the adult who is there at the child’s events, activities, etc.
In other words, they gain the trust of the adult caregiver so that the caregiver would say “no way would that person ever do anything so horrific.”
