One of the least talked about aspects of what I do:
When to STOP polishing paint.
I worked on a beautiful Toyota Avalon edition in pearl white ( almost 20 yr old car )
It was getting our Pro Coating Package, and it is going to be absolutely beautiful.
The thing is.. the paint is not only old, it is extremely thin.
Now, one of the things you may run into with inexperienced detailers is the desire to make every single spot of paint "perfect".
They will do 2, 3, 5 steps of compounding, polishing, and never ending polisher work to make as many scratches go away as possible.
That is a huge... I repeat... HUGE mistake.
See, this paint is extremely thin. While I am going to make an amazing day and night difference doing a full single step of paint correction...
I am NOT going to permanently damage this clear coat(or possibly remove it entirely in spots) by over polishing.
This is why when you have a trusted vehicle, you want to take it to an experienced expert when they touch your paint with a polisher.
You can easily... and I do mean *easily* do more harm than good.
Knowing when to STOP polishing is just as important, if not important than knowing when to keep polishing.
Keep rocking and rolling my friends.
