Hey if you are doing your first turbo build, the absolute last thing on your mind should be
1. Your boost controller.
2. Making a power.
The vast majority of turbo cars out there are lucky to get up to operating temp off the trailer without something starting on fire.
Make sure your plug wires do not touch any part of the exhaust. Even if you have some sh*tty fiberglass wrap on your manifolds, they are going to burn though. Even if you have some of those useless fiberglass sleeves on your wires, they will burn through.
Make sure you have big enough return lines off of the turbo. I like to run an inline regulator to mine. Your 90psi on cold starts and 80psi hot at 7000 rpm is actually not amazing on turbo seals.
If your fuel system is new, it's not a bad idea to cruise around for a while on the new build and then clean the injectors out again before actually making passes. I personally try to always run the old injectors on the new system for a while just to be 100% safe, then swap them to the new larger ones. I have had a 100% success rate doing this.
Your hellcat pump needs 10 gauge wire, minimum.
Amazon coils suck. Most aftermarket coils suck. If they are $90 new from gm each and you buy a full set for $123 they are probably going to ruin one of your pistons at a minimum.
Everyone has their own way of going about things and I'm sure this will upset people. But you really need to try to just get through a full season on your new build on gate pressure before going crazy. Finding out that your in tank fuel hose you put in that isn't rated for e85 blew off is a lot easier on things on 6psi than 18.
