Another shop told customer the engine was toasted. We done a leak down test found they had installed non avcs plugs and had a few turbo exhaust leaks and unconnected breather lines. Back up and on the road!!

So something that seems to be to common on the ej20/25. Shops and ppl them selves are installing non AVCs spark plugs into AVCs heads. There is a huge difference between the two. This has happened 2 times just this week alone. This leads to burn valves almost everytime. I understand everyone wants to do some stuff themselves. Just double check everything before you install parts.

This motor came in for oil consumption. Another shop said it had a cracked block. But the motor still ran decent. Well somebody didn’t rtv the case halves today. It had decent oil pressure too lol.

Made it back home to Oklahoma. Nothing like driving it 6 hrs home with its new motor no issues!!

Sti came In for oil consumption and rodonock. What It did have was excessive ring end gap andexcessive piston to wall clearances. Rod Bearings on 2/4 were excessive wear as well.

The importance of honing with a torque plate. The cylinder distortion on these engines are significant. Thats why you take it to your Subaru specialist shop.
