I am very blessed for 43 years serving Lincoln Ne. I remember when I was a senior in high school buying a radiator shop from Smitty's Radiator. I operated my radiator shop inside of Automate 66 and also worked for them as their mechanic. In 1980 as a 20 year old I was offered the rest of the business by Buss Whitehead. I called my mother to run to the bank and get me about $70.00 in various change. That was the start of Tim's 66. That location was at 17th & Washington. In 1994 I relocated to 13th & F Street. I am honored to have served my customers for many years. But really they became my friends. Sharing lifes stories, kids, grandkids, grandparents. I have sat with parents that have lost children trying to encourage them, spouses who have lost husbands or wives. Homeless folks who just needed a friend. It always seemed less about automobiles and more about relationships. Always walked away more blessed than I could ever imagined. There have been tears and lots of laughter, more joy than ever. Never seemed like a job but a family of folks that trusted me with their vehicles and their families. Had some great employees over the years, some that went on to their own shops or careers. Always happy to see them succeed. I may have retired from the Automotive world but have moved on to be a Director of Facilities at Faith Bible Church. So life is a little different but still working with folks and yes more families and their stories. What a blessing life is for me. So as I say goodbye to a long Automotive career, I say hello to a new way to serve my community and be humbled by the people that touch my life in incredible ways. Thank you all. Your friend Tim.
