❄️ EXTREME COLD WEATHER AUTO TIPS

🔹 1. Don’t Use Hot Water on Your Windshield

It can crack the glass instantly when it’s below zero. Use a proper ice scraper or let the car warm up gradually.

🔹 2. Lift Your Wipers Overnight

Prevents them from freezing to the glass and ripping the rubber.

🔹 3. Avoid Slamming Your Doors

Cold makes glass more brittle. A frozen door seal + a hard slam = cracked or shattered door glass.

🔹 4. Warm Up Slowly

Cranking the defrost on high right away can create rapid temperature changes that stress the windshield. Start low → increase gradually.

🔹 5. Clear ALL the Snow

Snow left on the roof can slide down onto a warm windshield and cause stress cracks — plus it’s a safety hazard.

🔹 6. Replace Old Wiper Blades

Frozen rubber tears easily in the cold and can scratch the glass.

🔹 7. Keep Washer Fluid Winter-Grade

Regular fluid freezes. Winter mix prevents icing and protects pumps/lines.

🔹 8. Watch for “Spider Crack” Growth

Existing chips spread faster in extreme cold. Get them repaired ASAP before they turn into full cracks.

🔹 9. Park Facing the Morning Sun (If Possible)

A tiny bit of natural warming helps reduce ice buildup.

🔹 10. Never Run Wipers on Ice

This can shred the blades and scrape your windshield.
