Quick carb swap on the little 5.0 palomino. We will test cold start in the morning to make sure the choke behaves like we want, then its off to the races.

We hit an absolute dinger in the shop today! The owner/builder of the 60 el camino was having problems with the old knee action tailgate straps, banging up the jamb and binding. We converted them to coated cable straps that work like all the modern trucks with quick release clip. If you have a project going and are having problems that you can't see a solution to, give us a shout. Fresh eyes and a mind thats turned a little different, might just be the answer.

The 1960 El Camino is looking fresh and headed to Dallas Mecum in October. Its amazing what a wheel and tire change, and throwing sport mirrors in the ditch will do for the look and feel of a car or truck (or in this case a little bit of both).

Sometimes they need more than we have to give. The blower internals look like someone has been keeping their bobcat in it and that has caused problems in the heads... at a minimum. We aren't engine builders, we know our place. We did however take care of a couple leaks, new master cylinder and brake booster, new driver door popper and rebuilt the carburetors. Maybe the customer will get it somewhere and repair the engine.

Thats not what you want to see in your carburetor. Let's get it cleaned up and put back together.

There are piles of unseen hours that go into building a vehicle. Case in point, when the widows operate as they should no one thinks twice, but someone had to take everything apart clean out the old goo and get new grease in there.
